Apparently we are letting him go for free and paying up part of his contract.

Read somewhere else that he is also attracting the interest of Lille,

Probably will get used as a make weight in the Hazard deal ;D

Way more.

£225k would be close to representing an appearance every 2 weeks.

A transfer under the old tight fisted regime... odd that we didn't offer a one year deal considering his age.. he came on a free and was given unnecessarily high wages. If he was successful we then offer a two year contract... its not like we would have lost a valuable asset if he chose not to re.sign.

He wouldn't have joined us if we offered a one year deal.

(Yeah, I know)

Liverpool outcast Milan Jovanovic ‘buzzing’ about possible move to Anderlecht
The Serbian forward appears close to returning to Belgian football after an unsuccessful spell on Merseyside, although he has also attracted interest from French side Lille

Milan Jovanovic is excited about the prospect of returning to Belgian football with Anderlecht after an unsuccessful stint at Liverpool.

The Serbian joined the club last summer on a free transfer from Standard Liege but barely figured after Kenny Dalglish replaced Roy Hodgson in January, and he is set to return to Belgium.

The player told Foot Magazine: "My wife adores Brussels and is pushing me to return to Belgium where I only have on offer. I am still buzzing after my meeting with Anderlecht in Qatar.

"I was moved by the importance given to me by the Belgian sporting press over the past week. And that makes me think because Belgium is my second country!"

His agent told the magazine: “The transfer of Jovanovic to Anderlecht is 99 per cent complete.”

Lille are also thought to be interested in his signature and the forward said that he would consider moving to the French champions.

He told Nord Eclair: “Lille, like Anderlecht, are a nice option for me.

“This is a good club, which plays at the top of the French game, a high-level competition, and who will play the group stage of Champions League. That's interesting. For now, I listen to everyone."

Agreed. It didn't work out, but I don't think his attitude has been poor at any stage and I hope things improve for him.

Liverpool forward Milan Jovanovic has been handed the chance to maintain his current £60,000-a-week earnings after receiving an offer from Al-Shabab Riyadh.
The wealthy Saudi Arabian club, who are coached by ex-Belgium keeper and Standard Liege manager Michel Preud'homme, want the flop who has struggled since his free transfer to Anfield a year ago.
Anderlecht thought they had a clear run on Jovanovic's signature, after his preferred choice Lille failed to follow up their interest, but now the Belgian club face an anxious wait while he decides his future.

The transfer will be made ??official tonight
LIVERPOOL Serbian striker Milan Jovanovic signed Tuesday early evening in two-year contract with RSC Anderlecht, the club said in Brussels football.

Negotiations between Anderlecht and FC Liverpool, the employer "Jova" have thus resulted.

"We reached agreement after lengthy and successful negotiations with the English club Liverpool FC and the player. Milan Jovanovic is an added value for the Sporting and will, no doubt, in addition to his undisputed talent, the business needed to support the current group of players. Therefore, management is pleased to be able to bring the player in Brussels, "said general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck RSCA in a statement.

Milan Jovanovic will be submitted Thursday to the necessary medical tests required. These tests will finalize the transfer.

At the age of 30 years, the Serb returned to Belgium after a season (missed) to Liverpool where he played only ten games. It was revealed in the jersey of the Standard between 2006 and 2010, during which he not only scored 52 goals in 116 games but won two championships (2008 and 2009) and the Golden Boot in 2009 .

Jovanovic, who has 35 international caps, played including the last World Cup in 2010 in South Africa. It should be on the road to the Red Devils in qualifying the World-2014.

Before playing Standard, Jovanovic brought the suits Vojvodina (Ser/1999-2003) Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukr/2003-04) and Lokomotiv Moscow (Rus/2004-06).

I do hope that we didn't have to pay him off.
[/quote]Twatter reporting it as a free transfer but they are about as reliable as Sky so who knows.

Good luck to him at his new club.
Moving him on should pave the way for a new signing.

Joe Cole next and we'll be laughing.

Jova looked decent enough on his debut against Arsenal, but since then he completely disappeared. He was given few opportunities and none as a striker, which is where many thought he could have been at his best.

It cannot of been easy going from a clubs star player to being on the bench all the time, and I think it's testament to his character that he never, to my knowledge, criticised the club. Good luck to him.

Indeed. Its very easy to get annoyed with these kind of players but ultimately it was only about a year ago that we told him we wanted him to play for us and gave him a contract. Not really his fault that it did not work out, and I'm sure he expected more from the move as well.

I thought he was alright and should have played much more up front.
Hodgson was a cunt though
IN:
Jones - Shite replaced.
Jovanovic - Shite sold.
Poulsen - Shite
Konchesky - Shite sold
Cole - Shite
Meireles - Awesome.

One in six.

Saw it mentioned last night that we had to pay him 2,5 mill euros to fuck off, after a 5 hour meeting at Anfield.

Last summer was utter gash no doubt especially when you consider we lost masher... I'm delighted we seem to be keeping Meirelles though... Has Jova officially gone yet? I've been on holiday and not paying much attention.

And now there are some rumours about him failing his medical at Anderlecht.

For the love of God if thats true..
