Milan Jovanovic has reacted furiously to newspaper reports suggesting he is restless at Liverpool.


Jovanovic assured Liverpoolfc.tv that he is happy at Anfield and knows he must fight for his place.

"I haven't spoken to any journalists other than Liverpool's own club journalists," stressed the Serbian international.

"I am angry. I am new here and all I'm trying to do is work and do what's best for the team. It's not important that I am on the bench. I have signed a contract for three years and I want to stay for three years.

"I feel very good at Liverpool and better players than me sit on the bench whether it's here or anywhere else. I have to learn and work to be better - it's not a problem.

"I expected a challenge. I expected sometimes to be in the team and sometimes not.

"And also, I don't want to speak about myself - it's much more important to talk about the team."

Jovanovic, who is now on international duty ahead of games with Estonia and Italy, insists he and his family are settling well in Liverpool.

He explained: "I have 50 Serbia channels on TV - that's what I am doing with my time. My house is near a park - it's a nice park and I like to spend time there with my kids.

"Football is my life. I haven't got time for anything else until I finish my career."

Well I liked Steptoe better, but theres something there, and I think he will shine.

Mind you Maxi stopped shining all of a sudden, he looked fantastic late last season, and I had high hopes, maybe its just the general team malise?

Circle the wagons around Gerrard, Reina, Agger, Skittles, Deadly, Torres, Carra, Cole, the youngsters and use the rest of them as decoys.

N.B. Some of these players are included because of their resale value and/or previous actions and not their current playing ability.
 
I dont know why any quotes from our players coming from that shithole of a rag paper arent just ignored. Its always new players too. Like the paper thinks they can just make shit up and get away with it. It must be one of the first things new players are told with regards talking to the press is not to talk to that shower.

Really? I thought he was poor. Wasteful in possession, and too often made the wrong decisions. I don't blame him particularly; I don't think he's suited to the left wing, but I don't think he furthered his case any yesterday. That said, it's difficult to single anyone out when they were all so poor (except Reina, obviously).

They never actually circled the wagons, it would've taken far too long to organise & they'd have been killed. It's purely a Hollywood invention. They also used to ride a long way away from each other to avoid dust from the other wagons.
