Apparently he said on Radio Merseyside words to the effect of:

"What do you expect from that referee. He used to work for South Yorkshire police...."
 
Agreed. The worst of it is that it obscures a genuinely poor (though not unusual) performance by Webb. Bad move, Aldo.

It's true that Webb was with S. Yorks.Police, but it has bugger all to do with what happened yesterday and trying to use Hillsborough as an argument is a very cheap shot. Webb has stuffed other teams too. He's just a wildly overrated referee.
 
Wasnt it him that missed the Fabregas handball at the emirates?

However, blaming Webb for yesterdays defeat is a bit ridiculous. I think we need to look a bit closer to home.
 
It's a insanely stupid thing to say. He gets easily carried away does our Aldo because he cares so much but he let that get the better of him obviously.
 
Webb also gifted Utd the penalty that turned their game against Spurs around last seaosn.
Spurs were leading 2-0, and Webb giftes them a penalty. Ronaldo scores and the rest is history.


Howard Webb is a useless ref that fucked us over royaly yesterday. Every big desicion went against us, but thats the story of this season.
 
He's a fucking awful commentator, who gets far too worked up to be in the least way objective.

He's prone to some foolish remark, it's just a shame he landed this one on such a sensitive issue.

He's not there to be objective Squiggles. He's there because he's completely biaised. I fucking love Aldo. I love the fact he get's excited and says what he feels. He's said something completely stupid here though
 
That's fair enough.

It's just the few times I've heard him this season he's made me want to slit my throat with his negativity, the constant groans of despair, etc.

For the most part he says what I'm feeling too, I just don't want to hear it whilst we're on because it makes tuning into the game an even more depressing experience.

I understand that mate. Aldo's as big a Liverpool fan as all of us. Wears his heart on his sleeve.

We lost because we weren't good enough and Nando missed 2 sitters.

I agree with some of your negativity on the other thread and do think some of your posts are harshly treated.

But this sort of post makes me wonder whether your WUM. I agree Webb didn't cost us the game.. the penalty really could have gone either way and I tend to think that whilst Valencia went down very easily, he was well within his rights to, and had just made it to the line (which counts as inside the area). However, red card? What? Are you a blind Manc? Carra was about 2metres away and behind him, therefore it was hardly a clear goalscoring opportunity which warrants a red card.
