Joe Cole - on his way?

For a debut season he's doing very well, but he's looked lightweight some times, seems scared to use his pace/skill to beat a man, and his decision making seems poor.

All of these will improve, but I think modos hatred is blinding him atm

Seeing Downing play football is blinding me.

If Downing gets 10 assists this season and 4 goals overall, I'll get off his back.

Thats too bad. We can do with some end product from him.

Well demanding 10 assits and brand it end product is a bit harsh. Luis should have had an assist to Agger earlier this xmas. Can't blame him for the lack of end product?

I don't like Downing and I rather doubt he'll ever do well enough for us for that to change.

He was decent yesterday but having to listen to the commentator jizz over his every touch was awful. Anyone would think Downing was playing like Messi at his best from the way he was carrying on.

Gerrard has 8 in the league. I said overall, all competitions. 10 assists is the bare minimum imo.

I think someone said yesterday that Gerrards best ever season in terms of assists is 9 or 10.

To be honest I was hoping for Downing to get near that amount when he first joined, I'd be happy with 5 or 6 now. I'd be even happier if we replaced him with someone a bit better though.

Deal has been completed according to Twatter and below from talkshite

"West Ham have completed the signing of Joe Cole from Liverpool.
The 31-year-old has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract at Upton Park, believed to be around £30,000 a-week, after negotiating a deal with the Reds about the remainder of his contract at Anfield.
It's understood Brendan Rodgers side will pay the England midfielder £50,000 a week for the remaining 18-months of his deal.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp also expressed an interest in the former Chelsea midfielder but talkSPORT understands that Cole turned down an 18-month deal at the Rs.
The deal has been completed in time for Cole to be selected for the FA Cup fixture against Manchester United on Saturday."

It was his run last night that created the space for SG's pass to Suarez for no. 3. He dragged a defender out of position with a diagonal run that opened that gap for Stevie to hit it into. He doesn't get an assist stat, and yet he contributed to a move with end product. It was a fine display last night.

Liverpool will pay him 50k a week for the remaining 18 months of his contract.

I wonder can I start putting in shit performances in work hoping that I can go somewhere else but still get paid by my current employers?

4m to get rid of someone we have paid 25m over three years to do precisely fuck all.
Unfuckingbelievable this game.

Wasn't there a rumour his signing on fee was paid to him on a weekly basis for the duration of his contract?
There would still be a big wedge of that owed and would account for a lot of the £3.5m we are paying him to feck of to the Hammers.

It was paid for the first 12 months, making his weekly wage something daft like £120k per week (signing on fee on top of his £90k per week).

Oh for fuck's sake. I'm still waiting on my pay for November and December.

I thought you were being sarcastic

Rationally speaking, this is potentially one of our best signings recently.

It's easy for people to say 'he hasn't done anything recently', but he has the ability and determination to really succeed for us, and I don't think I'm going overboard in saying that he could have a shout for Brazil 2014.

As long as we don't get him injured.

my goodness 😵
