Joe Cole - on his way?

Goodbye Joe, decent lad and a shame it didnt work out.

Apperantly announced tomorrow, permanent transfer.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers on Joe Cole's future: "I spoke to Joe earlier. He is a really good lad and has been brilliant during my time here in terms of as a human being. He is obviously speaking with West Ham at the moment and if they can get something organised it will be a terrific move for Joe."

But not as a footballer, which is ultimately more important.

Please, please, please, please, please let this happen. To anyone. I cannot stand seeing his face. I cannot stand that he ever played for us.
Really? He's always seem very likable and even when playing for the Chavs was always gave respectful comments towards us. I'm happy for him to move on but certainly don't dislike him

Do people really hate Ol Arry in the sport of Howard Wilkinsons, Martin ONeills and Neil Warnocks? I think he is amusing... Ill miss him talking out the car window on transfer deadline when his time is up.

Whilst we were losing games, it's better that it was with Joe Cole rather than some apathetic fucker like Aquilani. Of course now we are winning games we have no more use for him. I hope he plays well for West Ham though.

From the Guardian:

Joe Cole is set to end his unhappy spell at Liverpool by returning to his first club, West Ham United. "I'm not sure if a deal has been totally agreed. I know there have been talks," said Liverpool's manager, Brendan Rodgers.
Queens Park Rangers' manager, Harry Redknapp, who managed Cole at West Ham, said he had tried to sign the 31-year-old former England player but that the player was heading for the Hammers.
It has been reported that Cole will receive a £3m pay-off from Liverpool. His four-year contract on Merseyside is worth £92,000 a week and Liverpool said they will save about £4m by paying Cole to leave now, given that the last 18 months of his deal is worth about £7m.
If West Ham want Cole to play this weekend, he must be registered by midday on Friday. Cole left Chelsea on a free in 2010 after a successful seven-year spell but failed to make an impact at Anfield and spent last season on loan at Lille in France. The last of his 56 England caps was also in 2010.
Cole began his career at West Ham but angered fans of the east London club when moving across the capital to Chelsea after the Hammers were relegated.

£3m loss - groan

I hope that isn't true but given how early we are in the window it sounds true

If downing keeps playing like he has been, then I wouldn't overly want to sell. He's offering great balance at the minute and forming good partnerships with the left backs

Joe Cole paid off 3M and joins WHU. Liverpool has funded his retirement fund well. Signing on fee and a pay off. Joe is singing all the way to Upton Park and blowing bubbles.

hehe, the 2nd word in my last post is a hint.
He played well last night (and has for awhile now) - A word from the wise old fruit. Don't become embittered by the past. As Dr Martin Luther King said 'We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope' 😉

Downing has surprised me these past few games, tbh.
But I want to see more end product. We've got a 18 year old who's done better this season.

That's up for debate. Sterling's end product isn't exactly good a majority of the time

Sage words - I completely agree. While there is all the talk of his 'promise' I most of the time find him frustrating. He's still a nipper though so I'll forgive him. I'm wondering if Sturridge is going to replace him in the front 3.
