The stars of last year's second half ...

Jelavic hit 9 goals in 13 games, carrying Everton. This year, he's got 6 in 15.
Cisse hit 13 in 14 games, carrying Newcastle's push for 4th. This year, 2 in 14.

What's happened to these two? I mean Jelavic is still doing well, but doesn't seem nearly as prolific as last year. Have defenses figured both of them out? Has Ba's resurgence forced Cisse completely to the side, as his arrival did last year?

The missus's brother is a Newcastle fan, he said the problem is this season pardew is trying to accommodate them both, in a 442 that's not working. He said Ba can play out wide but doesn't like it, but when Cisse has to play out wide he does nothing and hates it. He said that when they're separated and either one plays with Ameobi, they bang them in!

As everyone else has said, for 7.5mill, I'd have Ba in a blink.

Problem is they can't play together hence why they wanted Carroll. Pardew should have stuck to his guns and kept one of them out wide. It was better for the team, but he was trying to keep both strikers happy and messed up the team. They are both too similar and want to occupy the same space.

Cisse hit a purple patch last season but even then there wasn't much else to his game than finishing (not that I'd be complaining).

Ba is much the better striker of the two.

We should make this a permanent thread, just to remember that we shouldn't make a panic buy after one good season.
