Sounds alright. Seem a bit bitter about N'Goals though
Wholehearted lad. Best he"ll make is a lower premier league midfielder talentwise I think. Maybe you will recall him?
WHEN 10-year-old football fan Owen Morris caught Jay Spearing’s shirt which was thrown into the crowd after the Wanderers’ clash with Barnsley he was over-the-moon.
But just seconds later, the young Bolton Academy player was devastated when the shirt was snatched from his hands by a man.
When The Bolton News heard about the youngster’s heartbreak at losing the shirt, we contacted Wanderers who were only too happy to give the devoted fan a very special treat.
To compensate for his loss, Owen got to meet his idol Spearing and was presented with a signed Wanderers’ shirt.
The St Catherine’s Primary School pupil, from Horwich, said he had been “gutted” after the top was stolen but that meeting Spearing had more than made up for his disappointment.
The youngster’s father, Gary Morris, said they had all been shocked when Owen told them the shirt had been taken from him.
Mr Morris, who has been a Wanderers’ fan for more than 20 years, has been taking Owen to matches since he was three.
The youngster has been an Academy player since he was five.
On Saturday, March 2, Mr Morris took Owen, his seven-year-old brother Oliver, and Owen’s 10-year-old friend, Sam Twist, to the match against Barnsley.
Midfielder Spearing is Owen’s favourite player and after he scored one of the winning goals during the match, Owen told his dad that he was determined to get his top.
At the end of the match, Owen caught Spearing’s shirt and his friend Sam caught Adam Bogdan’s.
But as he was waving the shirt above his head, the shirt was snatched out of his hands. Mr Morris said: “He was so excited and at half-time my little one said he was going to get Jay Spearing’s top.
“He chucked it in to the crowd at the end and Owen had it for about three seconds and then the next minute it was whipped from behind and someone ran off with it.
“It was made worse because his mate had Bogdan’s shirt.
“I told him it was part of growing up but it has been brilliant getting another shirt for him. I think he will get it framed to keep it.”
Spearing said: “As soon as I heard about Owen having my shirt taken at Oakwell then I arranged for a replacement that I wanted to present to him at our training ground to lift his spirits.
“It was great to see how much it meant to him and hopefully he’ll be wearing it with pride at the Reebok soon.”
Freedman has had to be thrifty in the transfer market since his arrival in October and has also raided the loan market for short-term solutions, such as Jacob Butterfield from Norwich or Steve de Ridder from Southampton.
The Scot makes no secret of the fact he intends to bring another couple of “quick fixes” to aid his tiring front line before the window closes at the end of the month.
But after Spearing’s man of the match display against Brighton, the Wanderers boss reiterated that a deal to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis is not currently on the cards.
“I’ve got a football club to look after here and that’s all I am worried about at the moment,” he said.
“Jay is a part of that, and so is Craig (Dawson). The deal is that we work him and give him back to Liverpool.
“All I’m really interested in when they go back to the parent clubs is getting a ‘well done, thanks very much’.”
Spearing’s performance did prompt praise from the manager, however, with Freedman delighted by the attitude shown by the 24-year-old ball-winner.
“When I first came here I don’t think I played him for the first couple of games and he told me he desperately wanted to get back in,” he said. “I knew from the way he was talking to me that he was serious.
“I thought once he got to know how I work and how I play that it would work because he is very coachable. As you’ve seen now he’s great. He’s growing up as a young guy.
“It’s the first time he’s come out and played 20-odd games, so he’s growing in confidence and he’s buying into what we’re trying to do. He’s a pleasure to work with.”
Actually he'd be great for Celtic! Jay + £9m for Wanyama?I love Jay but he's never going to make it as a regular for us. I hope he has a great career and that we get a decent fee for him. I reckon he's worth about £4m-£5m (minimum we should accept is £3.5m)

Or Jay + Ngoo + £6m = Wanyama, Lennon is more than likely losing Hooper this Summer so a solid professional and decent prospect might gives us a leg up.Actually he'd be great for Celtic! Jay + £9m for Wanyama?
Everton?I reckon Lennon might leaveCeltic this summer too.
Probably not but it's about his true worth. When you see EPL clubs signing thoroughly average midfielders like Howson, Delph, Snodgrass, Jarvis etc for anything between £4m-£10m then Jay should fall into that bracket. There's no way on earth we're getting 4-5M for Jay Spearing mate.
