So initially I thought it was a one off, but he's now consistently playing very well.

Is he for real? How much of it is down to Kenny? What's his role next season?

So many questions!

Same here.
He'll be a good squad player next season, and who knows, he may surprise us again and make the next step.

As im currently watching the scum game and take note that they have 5 players (im not counting darren gibson coz he's shit) who have been rotating their central midfield all season. Theres definitely a role for wee jay in our midfield there simply has to be good competition, the squad needs it and who knows...he may even step it up another level.

Squaddie next season unless he is sold to Newcastle!
[/quote]

Why would we sell him? Gerrard is bound to get injured.

Newcastle want him as part of the Enrique deal!

Not sure Enrique is worth it.

I'd like a good player as part of that deal.

I've always liked the look of him. And I'm really happy he's doing well. Would be an excellent understudy to whoever our new DM is. Unless Coady turns out to be significantly better.

I forgot he was out there in the second half to be honest.

Which isn't a bad thing necessarily. with defensive midfielders.

In Germany for example they said about Didi Hamann that 'you don't notice when he plays but you sure do when he doesn't'.

He's looked better than before but he's still not good enough for a starting place. Ok as back up 4th or 5th choice in the middle.

Kinda what Slugsy said. Jay will probably be happy with a squad role next season and he will get a fair few games with league cup, FA Cup and potential uefa cup. After that he'll have a big decision whether to move on or not.

He is doing very well at the mo long may it continue.

Ha!

We are both totally on the fence with Enrique. I haven't seen enough of him this season but word has it that he has vastly improved.

I think the reason why Spearing (and a number of others) are looking better than previous is because of Kenny's approach to the game. Players can look better than they are when playing in a positive system.
