All this talk of Rafa made me think back to his time with us.

I still almost cry when I think of January 2009 and how it cost us the title.

No wins in that month in the PL, drew with Stoke, Wigan and Everton.

We were top at xmas FFS

Did Rafa's rant affect us, did we just bottle it with expectation.

I really worry that that was our last chance of a PL win for a generation, this was before Man City

The result against Boro is what killed me. I don't think we should really be doing this thread though. It's far too depressing.

Remember that time well when we had all those draws and some fans kept saying we were unbeaten.

In the end it was those draws that cost us.

Should have won the league at a canter that season.

Stoke cost us the title - we had a perfectly good goal - a Gerrard direct free kick which went straight in - inexplicably not given. When a very jaded United played Stoke away after coming back from the World club championships they were gifted a game Stoke were dominating when Wilkinson got sent off in the 72 minute.

Two results that cost us the title - bitter - me - you fucking betcha

Selling Keane and not buying a striker cost us the points that would have won us the league.

If I remember correctly we had a wrongly disallowed goal against Stoke aswell.
