That's this morning rumours are coming from the Liverpool Echo

Their source Diario Gol claims we have tabled a bid..

Hope not. Seems to have gone backwards lately and he's 29. Plus if Modo can't stand hendo for his sideways passing he's going to blow a gasket with Raktic.

29 years old ? we cant want him...no way...unless he is a stop gap.

Knocked back on Strootman yesterday, after Rakitic today.Seems we are after a stop-gap until Keita comes in July.Lets hope we get a new 1st choice goalkeeper at least.

Strootman has more miles on the clock, has a physical presence (adding some height and tough tackling to the midfield); if it is between the two, then it is Strootman all the way.

Were we knocked back? I didn't see that.

Diario Gol, or as he's known in Brazil: Diario Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!

From Wikipedia:

Diario Gol was an award-winning dramatist, director, actor, painter and political provocateur, best known for his satires on football, including The Accidental Death of an Allardyce (1998) and Mistero Buffon (2007). He also enjoyed a long spell as director of football and sexual deviance at Crewe. A great lover of life as well as sport, he invented the football-inspired 3-5-2 diet (three pizzas for breakfast, five for lunch and two for tea) and owned many hats. After his death he returned at Easter as an online football magazine in Spain.

Rakitic is clearly a good and kreative player. But somehow he can only do what Lallana and others we have already does. I hope we look for some with that X factor that wins is tricky games out of Nothing. We are already stacked with players that can play other teams off the field.
