Jose Mourinho has told Spanish television that he expects to be appointed Chelsea manager by the end of this week.
The Portuguese coach rounded off his three-year reign at Real Madrid with a 4-2 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, having already confirmed he would be leaving Spain at the end of the season.
And in an interview with TV football show Punto Pelota, Mourinho insisted his return to Stamford Bridge will be made official within the next few days.
"I'm going to London on Monday and at the end of the week I will be the manager of Chelsea," he said. "I feel the people there love me and in life you have to look for that.

Carvalho - Jose will win league with Chelsea

"Life is beautiful and short and you must look for what you think is best for you."
The 50-year-old led Chelsea to back-to-back Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006 before departing in 2007 after reported disagreements with owner Roman Abramovich over transfer budgets.
He is now set to replace former interim manager Rafael Benitez, who left the club after guiding them to third place in the Premier League while also clinching Europa League glory.
Mourinho's appointment has been widely anticipated for several months, but the Premier League was forced to issue an apology to Chelsea after they reported he had already signed a deal with the London club.

Do we really love Mourinho?

An article, headlined "Jose Mourinho makes Chelsea return" was published on Sunday, but it has since been removed from the premierleague.com website.
A spokesman for the Premier League said: "It was a publishing error. We took it down as soon as we were notified of it, and we've spoken to and apologised to Chelsea.
"We have no prior knowledge of any movement or any announcement regarding Jose Mourinho."
The article's sub-header read 'Portuguese coach back at Stamford Bridge after signing a XX-year contract', and the Premier League indicated it was an article which was being prepared in anticipation of a possible announcement.
Former Chelsea star Arjen Robben, who won two league titles at Chelsea, thinks that Mourinho can replicate that success on his return.
"It's a big move for Chelsea with Jose coming back but I know it is one the fans will welcome," the Bayern Munich winger told The Sunday People.

Mourinho - Have you missed him?

"He had very successful years at Chelsea and he can have them again.
"The thing about Jose is that he will win at any cost; he doesn't care how, he just wants to win.
"I've not always been supportive of the style of football he plays, but he is a winner who has achieved great success. I am sure that with some big signings from the owner that Jose and Chelsea can rule England again."
His former team-mate Frank Lampard sealed a new contract at Chelsea last month and Robben believes it could be down to Mourinho's homecoming.
"It is no surprise to me that Frank is now staying. It cannot be for football reasons that he was going because he is still one of the best. It must have been a personal thing with the old coach," he said.
"As soon as it became clear Jose would return, there was never any chance Frank would go because there is such respect and a friendship between the two of them.
"He sent me a text after we won the final, that is the sort of classy guy Frank is."

I still think "The Special Once" is the way to go.

i can't stand people who like mourinho and his antics ...this will be his second time managing them cunts and that should say it all about him .

and yeah robben you dimwitted simpleton , i'm sure lampard's contract issues were benitez's fault , a manager who knew he wasn't staying on from the start and who had nothing to do with long term decisions there .

Mourinho's gonna be shit, and it's gonna be great to watch them fall flat on their faces after (once again), bigging themselves up as Premiership winners already.

I said years ago that Mourinho would probably just end up going back to Chelsea rather than to Man Utd or City.

Turns out I was right.

I can't remember the last season he had that would classify as shit. He's there or there abouts every year at every club.
If roman gives them the reported 100mill to spend, he'll win the league, again, the fucker.

I suspect the only hunger he still has is for his own image. All I've heard from him about coming back to England has concerned the 'love' people have for him (not a thing about trophies or titles or fresh ambitions), and his first move at Chelski apparently has been to give the squad an extra week off before pre-season training. The last thing Chelski need is a manager who wants the squad to love him, they need someone to blast out all the ageing egos. Maybe he'll have a decent start but I doubt it will last.

The season that just ended he won the Spanish charity shield, thats pretty shit for a real madrid side managed by the special one.

I hope his return is terrible but like you say £100m in his hands usually puts trophies in the cabinet.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Jose Mourinho as First Team Manager.

Mourinho has signed a four-year contract and will return to the club where he won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups between 2004 and 2007.

Ron Gourlay, Chelsea FC Chief Executive, said: 'I am delighted to welcome Jose back to Chelsea. His continued success, drive and ambition made him the outstanding candidate.

'It is our aim to keep the club moving forward to achieve greater success in the future and Jose is our number one choice as we believe he is the right manager to do just that.

'He was and remains a hugely popular figure at the club and everyone here looks forward to working with him again.'

Since leaving Chelsea in 2007, the 50-year-old Portuguese has worked in Italy with Inter and Spain with Real Madrid, lifting three league championships, two domestic cups and the Champions League.

Originally appointed at Stamford Bridge in 2004, immediately after winning Europe's top competition with Porto, he quickly achieved success securing his first trophy for the club as early as February 2005, when we beat Liverpool 3-2 after extra-time in Cardiff to win the Carling Cup. We went on to win the league that season with a record 95 points and a record low of just 15 goals conceded in 38 games.

The club celebrated consecutive championships in our centenary 2005/06 season, secured with a 3-0 win over Manchester United in late April, and the next campaign we were able to add the Carling Cup with victory over Arsenal in Cardiff, and the FA Cup when United were beaten again in the first senior game at the new Wembley.

Mourinho departed by mutual consent in September 2007, going on to develop his already impressive CV by winning the Serie A twice in two years and the Champions League with Inter, before joining Real Madrid in 2010, where he lifted both La Liga and the Copa Del Rey, ending his stay in Spain yesteday.

He brings three coaching staff with him in Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais. Each carries the title of Assistant First Team Coach and will work alongside current first team staff Steve Holland, Christophe Lollichon and Chris Jones.

The new manager will be officially presented in a press conference at Stamford Bridge on Monday 10 June, further details of which will follow in due course.

the last couple of seasons i have only really watched our games . This is will be another reason to cut down on my football intake .

I can picture his first press conference now with the media fawning all over him and smiles all round, it'll be a massive love in where Jose is delirious knowing his thirst for attention will be met and the reporters will struggle to contain their boners knowing the will be getting solid gold material from him every other day.

I can't remember him being at a club that shouldn't be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

`Natalie Sawyer is wetter than an otters pocket sitting at the SSN desk.
The total fucking ride.

I think Stamford Bridge will be a fortress again. He's unbeaten in 60 games there (P60 W46 D14). Went something like 150 home games unbeaten between 2002 to 2011 too.

You lie it's Kirsty Gallagher, SSN are hyper with excitement... for a fucking manager being hired, shows the drama he brings

I think he'll win fuck all.

I despise the fucker and hope he fails miserably.

The world would be a better place if City, Arsenal, Spurs & us finished above them and Gollum's mancs.
