....and thats what gets results.

I was just thinking there how fucking good we are away from home in Europe. The game the other night was grim as fuck, but it was part of a long line of seriously good results in Europe.
This is all the notable games since Houllier took over (i've left out the defeats, although there arent all that many to be honest) and its unbelievable that in these FORTY ONE AWAY European ties since 1998 we have drawn 26 and won 15.
That is not to mention ive left out all the muck like Haka, Unirea etc.
I'd be amazed if any other club in Europe has a record this good?

LOOK AT THE TEAMS WE'VE BEAT!! REAL, ARSENAL, BARCELONA, INTER etc.... FUCKING HELL.

CELTIC draw
VALENCIA draw
OLYMPIAKOS draw
ROMA win
PORTO draw
BARCELONA draw
DORTMUND draw
DYNAMO KIEV draw
BOAVISTA draw

Ultimately THIS IS LIVERPOOL.

Incredibly impressive. But how many have lost?

And who has the best European record, I means wins/losses/draws, Rafa or Houllier? (should be Rafa)
Fuck working all that out mate. The point is ALL teams lose away from home. You expect to win the tie on your home games.
Look how many good teams we have stopped winning their home games!!
Its unbelievable.
Truly it is when you think about it.
We've taken every single one of those teams back to Anfield with the advantage to us. Amazing, and it shows why in the middle of that period TWICE we were rated the number one club side in Europe by Uefa.
We just win in Europe. Simple.

Ha, like I'm gonna do it.

Yeah it is quite an a achievement.
People tend to forget that we were in a Europa League semi final last season despite the abysmal league performance.

Don't want to be "downer" but our European success would have tasted so much better with a couple of domestic league wins.
Quite. The problem there is that we have had successive managers who think an away point in the league is a good point earned. And the manager before that (houllier) wasnt good enough tactically. That said it amazes me how good his record was against United.

Thats 86 points there and thats what i would sit down at the start of the season with the expectation of winning.

3-1 Olympiakos
8-0 Besiktas
4-0 Madrid
4-4 Chelsea
4-2 Arsenal
3-3 Milan
5-4 Alaves

Still amazes me that we didn't win the league that season. Fuck Ronaldo....
...and Torres's and Gerrard's injuries.

BTW
Best CL final ever.
Best Uefa cup final ever.

Maybe not to the standards of the other cups but we came from behind in consecutive seasons - v West Ham a late Alan Kennedy equaliser and then 2-1 replay. v Tottenham a late equaliser again -Whelan - and won 3-1 in extra time. v M.Utd Alan Kennedy equaliser and Ronnie Whelan winner.
Also, on the back of Chelsea's 7th consecutive shootout loss, we have a remarkable record of winning any penalty shootout that matters. League Cup Final, FA Cup Final and semi Final, Champions League Final and semi final.

Even the big one's we lost were pretty good. Liker the Bayern L one and the Chelsea tie. What was it 4-3?

Chelsea was 3-2.

That was an absolute cracker of a match. so close to reaching the final, yet so far.

I genuinely believe that if Skrtel hadn't gone off injured we'd have won that game, he was bumming Drogba all over the park, fairly sure he scored almost straight after Skrtel went off too...

When did we lose to Bayern? I know we beat them in the Super Cup like.

Just remembered the first leg.

We Absolutely raped them but somehow entered the final minute only 1 up when poor old riise's OG.

Should've been game, set and match before a ball was even kicked at the Bridge.

I have no desire to watch games we lose or draw (LFC 4, Arseshavings 4) if the draw fucks us.

Knobs to that.
Yeah. Lucio and Ballack and all that, they went to the final.
You have to do a bit of deciphering with ole DB's posts.
Roberto from Genoa = Aquilani at Juventus
Bayern is Leverkusen
etc

Oh yeah just noticed the "L" there.

Anyone remember that time Ballack switched feet on a sliding Simon Gerrard to score for Bayer Lunich ?
