Is Shelvey The Messiah ?

He has one good game then one mediocre game, and I suppose/ hope the consistency will come. Nevertheless, even in his poor games he's capable of one or two moments of genuine quality, which gives me hope for him. Without Adam, we need at least one midfielder attempting creative plays from midfield, and that's Shelvey at the minute.

I have to say, James McClean really looks an outstanding prospect. He's strong, dynamic and hard working. That lad has every chance of playing for a top team.

Yes. Seriously.
I mean he's already 23 and Sterling is 17 and imo better than him. I really don't see him playing for a top team. The lad has trouble cementing a place in the Irish XI even after Duff retired.
Sorry, I'm not seeing what you're seeing.

I don't think he's a winger though. I think you'll see him moving into the middle, perhaps when Cattermole fucks off.

Is this still about jonjo shelvey?
Hope he continues getting chances, the boy can turn out world class. Need to calm down a bit when in final third though.

I get the Shelvey excitement cos he’s young, British, skilful, got decent technique, has plenty of upside, and looks like an actual fucking footballer, but…

He’s playing the number 10 role for us, and has zero competition for that spot. Our rivals have these options for that position:

United – Rooney / Kagawa
City – Silva / Nasri
Arsenal – Cazorla
Newcastle – Ben Arfa
Spurs – Sigurdsson

All of those guys are fucking brilliant. They all score goals, they all create, they all have their team pretty much built around them, and they can all win a game and importantly change a team on their own.

As nice as Shelvey *could* be, he’s a million miles off those guys right now, and emblematic of why we’re a mid-table team. Promise, surrounded by promise, surrounded by past-it’s

Jonjo Shelvey is in the most important position we’ve got in our side, and he wouldn’t even get on the bench for our rivals.

On the one hand I've always been a great fan of Jonjo and should be in the club.

On the other hand it's a bit gay, isn't it?

He played well tonight but I'm not going to piss my knickers in excitement over one game against a some shitty Swiss team. He can push on though from here

Anyone got any gifs of the Pans Labyrinth celebration he did? I haven't got much wank material lying round and it gave me a massive boner in the pub.

Took his 2 goals really well. It's clear he has loads of confidence in his own ability which is great but i still think he needs to be more involved in other parts of the game.

If he's looking to play off the striker/in the hole or whatever they call it, he's gonna have to be very special because only the real top players can get away with playing such a role(no defensive responsibility etc).

He should defo start on Sunday.

Come on - Anyone can see the lad has talent. He's 20 FFS. Loads of time to improve as well. Him and Borini changed the game when they came on. Jonjo probably more so. I'm sure he'll start on Sunday.

It may not have been a red. But it's every game. Some dickhead challenge he doesn't need to make. Eventually it was going to cost us.
