As I say he knows the squad...

This. No one know more about the current squad than he is.

Boy did we play excitibg football though. And i did say in some capacity.

O'Neill as interim. I think he would make us hard to beat and restore a bit of confidence. Also proven in the past he can get the best out of some average players.

He would never ever take the job on an interim basis.. No chance..

He was on a rolling contract a Villa, part of the reason why he left...

imagine Allardyce. Id fucking cry and jump off a roof.

My choice for interim would be Boriello - Already at the club and seems to have a great way of giving players confidence..

Who?

When the manager is sacked and finding a good replacement might take time, you need somebody who is a professional, knows the squad and knows what he is doing. That's why most teams appoint the assistant manager as the caretaker in such circumstances. Sammy Lee is a decent man and a good assistant manager by all accounts. He might not take us to the next level, but he will surely stop the rot. Kenny is a popular choice, but if you use your head and not your heart in making this decision, it's clear that Sammy has much better chance to be a successful caretaker than Kenny for many reasons:

1. He has much more recent managerial experience
2. He is much more intimately familiar with the squad and the problems plaguing the team
3. He is not a club legend or a divisive figure and would not endanger the owners' long-term vision if he is successful, by making it impossible to replace him

With Kenny, I worry that we will go down the path of Newcastle, hoping in desperation that a popular former player can somehow turn everything around based on nothing more than his name and legendary status. Let's not make any more bold and big mistakes, let's instead trust a professional to quietly guide us to the point where the next manager will not have to take over a sinking ship.

He obviously didn't know what Kenny had won as a Manager when he said that.
