Yep, no sense in selling, & I want to see the lad play. When he's fit he's almost exactly fits what you would ask for in a second or third choice striker for our side.
Keep him as 3rd choice. Sell Origi and Sturridge. Buy someone good. Which leaves us with

I think that is a bit thin Squad for all the games we might end up with.
Considering only one of them will play per game in our 4-3-3 system, I think its fine.
If Klopp however decides that a 4-3-1-2 as per the last 2 games is the way forward then it might be thin. Although we could just play Mane upfront - he might be even better in a front 2.

We had Sturridge- Firmino-Origi-Ings-Woodburn this year with fewer games and where not fine.

Yep, keep him. Will be watching him with this horrible fear every time he's on the pitch though, that he could break down again with a new knee injury.

Considering the club pays him between £2.5-3m a year, him it not playing will have cost the club nearly £13m over two years including the compensation. I don't trust he won't ever a serious injury next season which rules him out.
If you look at it purely from a financial aspect then it makes even more sense keeping him.
Selling him now we'd get almost nothing, whereas with a season or half a season (January window), under his belt we'd be much more likely to get a decent amount back.

He's been through a hellish time but there's not much left to snap, and once he's back to fitness, and then match fitness, he deserves a chance. He's got more determination, more fight and more desire than most in the first team, and you can rely on him to give his very best to prove his worth. And he's such a Klopp player, he'd be so useful to have as an option during a long and busy season.

Wasnt it reported that we turned down several bids last summer? The Echo and the Times reported that a few of the bids were over 20 mill as well.
After two serious knee injuries I doubt that there are many clubs lining up to buy him now. So it makes more sense to keep him.

I think we shouldn't / can't factor Ings into our first team plans for the first half of the season - at least not for the league and CL. I think our target should be to get him fit and ready for the second half of the season. He'll be fresh and raring to go then, and it'd feel like we got a new signing in the winter transfer window. Hopefully it goes that way anyway.
I thought he was running now ? If that's the case, and I haven't mis-remembered, he'll have the same pre-season as everyone else and should be fit and raring to go from Day 1.
