Rivaldo was an ubercunt, for sure. He actually defended his actions when asked about it later and said he'd do the same again. Sadly, how good you are at cheating is becoming an increasingly important facet of the game. And the South Americans are pioneers of the sport.

The Referees are as much of a cunt as the cheater.
Both are ruining football.

Yep.
I have still not heard an even semi-cogent, partly rational argument as to why these pricks can't be charged in retrospect; fined their match payment or something and suspended for two or 3 weeks. The punishment doesn't really come into it (though I'd like to see them lose a weeks wages) - I just want to know why they can't be charged on video evidence; it happens all the time in practically every other sport.
It's the same reason why we don't have video refs.
If you can punish refs after the game then it makes it more difficult for the likes of Blatter to fix matches so that the big teams go through. This excuse about all levels of the game using the same equipment is a load of balls, Blatter doesn't want it because he loses control of the game.
I'm not exactly making a coherent point here but I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say!
