Daily Star (I know) claiming we're favourites to sign him now Madrid have confirmed he's available in the summer (around 15m).

Is he the man to provide steel in midfield allied to incisive passing from deep? He looked incredibly promising at Sociedad prior to his move to Madrid but hasn't been able to establish himself there.

However, the type of player he is makes him a good target for us. He's a bona fide defensive midfielder, strong in the tackle but with a good passing range. He'll do the dirty work and be disciplined in providing us with a solid foundation for others (Hendo/Milner? etc) to provide energy / attacking intent.

I reckon he's more likely a signing than most mentioned.
