* A team that has some of the best talent in the world, and we fought the whole way. Yes, they should have scored goals but I don't give a shit. They didn't. The spirit and determination of this team should not be undermined. They fought for 100 minutes almost -

* Enrique. I bashed him throughout the match thread, but once Rodgers changed the back four to a 4-4-2, he started playing really well and was so unlucky not got get a winner in the 94th minute. He's not good enough, but credit where it's due.

* Wisdom. Played poorly in the first half, very poorly. And yet, he didn't hide and played really well the second half.

* Suso. Until Lucas is back, he's earned more playing time in the middle where he can be more effective than on the wing,

* Suarez - you legend. He is unreal. He wasn't great today, but he caused their defenders non-stop problems and got his goal ... again. Could have had 2 ... pity. Thanks for doing your part in the fight against racism.

* Rodgers - say what you want about him, but he started with a 3-5-2/5-3-2 and after 60 minutes, shifted it to a 4-4-2. He's a good, young, still learning manager. I just wish we had some patience - this season isn't about '4th place' (though you never know).

* Gerrard - lots of poor passes but he led by example and never hid. Fucking legend.

* Last but not least - Spurs lost, Arsenal drew and there's still a long way to go in this season. Yes, there's problems - everyone can see them. But this team can still do something this season. We've got a kinder run coming up (I think) and hopefully a few wins will get us going ...Proud of what the team showed today, really proud.

Connsidering that match finished about 3 minutes ago, you must be a fast typer 😉

Agree with most of it though.

Sadly, many of our "supporters" won't be able to fully vent their collective spleen at how shite everything and everyone associated with the club are / is tonight, though, after that 2nd half.

Great post. I agree except for Gerrard.

You really think he's done? I think we need to just let him play next to Suarez, unless we are really going to purchase a striker in Jan. I think against this team, most players can look bad and his presence tracking back etc was very important for the team. May be I'm deliberately blinding myself b/c of who he is? I dunno, I think we haven't seen the end of this player.

I'll tell you a story. My mother MADE ME take a touch typing class in high school. I was dead set against it, but she forced me to. It was great because it ended up giving me free Wednesday mornings for almost 2 months as I finished so quickly, and on good days, I get up to 100 wpm ...

I don't think he's done, I suppose I was just hoping against hope he'd come back from his injury looking as good as he said he felt he would.

I don't think he's done. He's still class. He's just not Istanbul / Cardiff Stevie anymore... I'd still rather have him than not.

I thought Gerrard had a good game today.
Some of his passing, especially in the first half, was off but he was often the force driving us forward in the second.
Not to mention some of the great covering runs he made too.

Yep I thought Gerrard played well also. Couple of errors, but a few sublime passes too.

of our next 10 league games, the only top 10 teams we play are spurs, west ham and fulham ! . So this run is massive for Rodgers and the team ... we need to get results , no excuses now .

I thought Enrique, Gerrard and Suarez (obv) were excellent, rest went from shit-meh for me.
Considering our complete lack of any sort of penetration or any killer balls into the box, a draw is a fantastic result.

I thought we were poor until the change in tactics from Rodgers. That said, the team deserves a lot of credit. They were up against some of the best players in the world and they fought for everything, didn't give up and managed to get the point.

Few points:

Allen was poor today. Chelsea clearly wanted to get at him and they managed to do so. Allen needs to figure out how to stop that. He also needs more awareness of who is coming up behind him.

We missed Shelvey's ability to do something positive from midfield. We saw a lot of the ball in the early stages, but up until the later stages, the only way we were going to score was from a corner, and so it proved.

Enrique was surprisingly good. I hope it continues.

Wisdom shouldn't be playing in theses matches yet. Kelly may not be a 'fullback', but at least he's got the pace and confidence to have a go and offer some width. Wisdom reminds me of Carragher out there, but nowhere near as good.

Quick note to Carragher for that brilliant flick on. I'm not sure how he managed it, but it was class.

Everyone else will speak about Suarez so there's little else to say. He's at his very best right now and it's great to see.

Good point under the circumstances and it was nice to see us finishing strongly. Hopefully that will give the guys some confidence.

Allen I think could do with a rest. Give Henderson a go.

Good post LTW. Shame we couldnt nick the winner at the end.

Also thought Johnson was excellent

Terrible first half but not unexpected, given the gulf in quality between the 2 clubs and the missing personnel on our side (as if the problem wasn't bad enough). Good adjustments in the second, and a good spirited fightback, which next to the result, is the best thing to see. What you hate to see is the team rolling over and feeling sorry for themselves in the second half. We didn't do that, which is great. Could've robbed them of a point too but for Cech's save at the end.

Our squad isn't deep enough (Eureka!) and we'll have games like these against the better opponents. A point away is really something to be happy with considering our opponents.

A few more points and then kube soup (Keni will know what that is, home made too!):

* Suso - he's got something about him. I'm still not sure how good he'll be, but besides two poor passes, his confidence and class on the ball is fantastic for an 18 year old. Impressed with what his influence in the middle did.

* Gary25 is miserable. We're not firing Rodgers, it's just a joke.

* Allen needs a rest as Keni says. Henderson can do that job fine I think.

* Glen Johnson is a quality attacking fullback.

allen looks badly short of confidence and nullifying him when he has his back to the opposition is becoming predictable. can't wait for lucas.

Well done to Redknapp for not fuelling the hype about Liverpool's 'revolutionary' style of play. There's no need for that nonsense.

What on earth are you talking about?

You just seem to be unhappy lately, and I'm worried. xxxx

haha, i'm fine. Suppose you're right, im a miserable cunt at times although i like what Rodgers is doing.

I feared a 3-0 to Chelsea today and we did ride our luck at times(about time we had some) but the longer the game went with Chelsea not going 2 up i had a good feeling we'd get something from the game, and so it proved.

Great point in the end.

Gave up after midnight and poor first half display thinking.we will lose by 3 or more. So BR confirms that he does have plan B, C, ......
Will try to catch the second half.

We have played better and got nothing. Its about time we had something go our way for a change.
Take some heart from the way we ended the game!!
