So we've all seen Roys masterplan now. Preseason plus 4 League and 4 European games. So its fair to say we know what to expect now. With that in mind, would you if offered right now take Rafa in a straight swap.
Shit or get off the pot.

Just a question Asbo. I voted no obv. But then i hate Rafa and Roy is more fun to rip the piss out of.

I was always more for Rafa than against him and despite ultimately knowing that it was for the best I was a bit sad that he left.

But the longer he is gone the better I feel about it.

No!

We should not have a Manager who goes to Birmingham and plays (or expects) for a draw, and Roy did it, and Rafa did it too.

No wonder the players looked shite, it was the game plan.

Stick Keegen, up there he's shite but plays to win, how I'd LOVE to see us play to win for once!

Hodgson is a fucking cunt and should be sacked before it's too late.
Yeah thats noooooot reeeeeeally what i asked Sven. Plus its Roy is a *insert saggy faced or age based slur here* fucking cunt as any fule kno!

i'd swap back.
Good man Skully!

At this stage I would take David O'Leary as manager if he promised never to pick Lucas!

i'd trust rafa to get us fourth more than i trust the hodge. the hodge is everything i expected him to be, and i didn't want him.

It's not looking good, but with returning players it could turn better.

Regardless, few people here were overjoyed with this signing, but let's at least be respectful...

Calling him all sorts of names, and always referencing his age is getting a bit much.

he's either good enough or he's not. But let's not start calling him c&*t and other names..

His Legacy might be 'He made Souness look like a good Liverpool Manager' though

Benitez had totally lost it and had to leave.

Hodgson had done a fine job for two years on a tight budget. He was a logical choice for the job and needs more time before people start jumping on his back.

We won't persist with the clones in the middle, and we've had a tough start to the season. Things are going to get better. I'm still optimistic and have faith in the boss.

I wouldnt swap back.

Not because i think Rafa was a worse manager, and I think Rafa was miles better.

But he lost the plot, and most of us know how the story would end if he were still here.

Hodgson might ultimately fail as badly as Rafa did, but there's still a chance.

So I'm not twisting.

I wouldn't swap back. I don't have high hopes that Hodgson will be much more than 'alright' but we know that Benitez was not good enough already.

Rafa's overall record proves he's a better manager than Roy. It also proves he wouldn't have been a better manager for LFC, not any more.

No swap.

Nobody with any clue whatsoever wanted Hodgeson.
Apparently someone started a Hodgson out thread, and got excoriated!

I stuck up for you. I thought it did exactly what you wanted it to: express your dismay and also generate debate.

Nice one - thanks for that - just wanted to express surprise that people were thinking "look at the mess we're in, this is as good as we can get". Having said that, i want to see what he can do with a full strength team - Cole, Torres, Gerrard, and Meirles in the same starting 11.

We can moan all we want and sadly do nothing about it. Roy is here at least for the short-term.

Should he do the nigh on impossible and beat United, that will get our attention.

Here's to hoping!

I'm with you, but Let's see what he can do with a better team - with Cole and Meirles in the side, and no Lucas or Poulsen playing together!!

Hopefully, we gets the message - throw off the shackles! (without doing an ossie ardiles..)

There's not enough letters in the word "no" to adequately express the "no"ness of my answer.

I'll use cars as an analogy. Rafa was a flawed genius, capable of perfection along with momemts of moments of immense frustration. Think vintage Ferrari that will not start (most of last season), but in the moments when it is going well, no-one is better (Madrid, Barca, 4-1 Scum).

The Royster is a steady pair of hand, a Golf Diesel, perhaps.

Which would you prefer?

The simple answer would be "whichever is more likely to get you (at least towards) where you want to go".

And when the (very) vintage Ferrari spends much of the journey going backwards, thus rendering you farther from your intended destination than you were when you began that trip (and getting even further away with each passing mile), I'd HAVE to try the Golf Diesel, as, though it may not be as sexy a motor, when the other car has proven that it's simply not going to get you there, it's the better option, because it MAY get you there.

It may not have been when you first bought the Ferrari, of course. But that's a long time ago now.

Sorry, but I'll never be satisfied with a Golf diesel.
