Great performance... Shame about the result always going to be difficult with 12 vs 10..

The first time this season the team played with belief, the team and manager should take heart from that.


Standout performance..

Kelly.. Make that RB position your own m8, and with that performance id pretty much say you have.

Fans, what can you say... Sang their heart out..!! Well done...

Yeah I'm proud, and if it wasn't for an extremely controversial penalty who knows what could have happened? Gerrard may not have been angered and got sent off? Who knows, it's all ifs and buts now. But we played well, and didn't deserve to get beat.

If the team plays like that from now until the end of the season who knows what could happen. Kelly needs to start at right back now though, that's for sure.
 
Exactly my feeling as well. We are 10 men against 12 men and only manage to lose 1-0...great performance...Chin up and walk tall !
 
The lads stood up for the shirt today and played with pride.

What a difference from the Blackburn game!

Agree with most of that, but it's not the first time this season we've played with belief. Chelsea at home was our standout performance IMO. Shame it was such an isolated high.

Exactly. Fuck todays result - there's nothing that can change that now but we must, absolutely must, play with that energy and commitment for the rest of the season. It's the bare minimum I'd hope for.

Of course but the determination, heart and spirit the players showed today certainly indicates we are back on the right trail.

Much more positive approach from the off as well.
 
There will be no pampering first team players under Kenny.

We've had a few "one off" performances as Bunny states. It has to be the way we approach every game. Do that and I'm sure results will come. Then we build on quality.

I really liked the way we performed and was so happy - we actually looked like a top 4 team playing the way we did today and not the shower of shit we have been playing. The King has made an immediate impact on the team by what I witnessed.

Agree totally on Kelly - he was easy MOTM for us - a better defensive head than what I suspect Johnson will ever be.
 
I an very happy with the attitude and passion shown. This was a good restart of the season. Cheaters we just have to live with...

I think both CDs played well in a thight good defence. Unlucky with the gerrard situation when we dictated the game. I liked what I saw.

True - the lads fought today (what a refreshing change from the last few performances) but still...
 
Just seeing us pressing the oppo on the halfway line instead of just outside our box is cause for optimism.
 
what I think made a difference was that we actually atempted to pass the ball and the positioning of players to support one another was evident today compared to the recent games. If the King builds on this then we have a team that will surely go up the table.

I finally felt proud to watch our team give it their all compared to the shit we were put through with hodgson incharge
