Huntelaar

real + milan = 45 games and 15 goals. Admittedly he was not a regular in all these games, but those stats dont suggest we are signing a legendary finisher.

Fuck, getting excited will only turn out in us not getting him.

*gets excited anyway*

We don't have a goal scorer. He is one. For 6 million this is potentially a great signing. If it was spurs or Newcastle who got him we'd all be green with envy.

1 in 3 is better than what we have at the minute

His record is amazing, even at Madrid, despite not making it he still managed 8 in 20 appearances. Last season he got 48 goals in 47 games and this season he's got 6 in 12.

Yeah, I'm wrong.... Sadly Ross you couldnt be more full of it.

Just turned 29 years old. Playing in the Bundesliga, which is the league in Europe closest matched the Premier League for pace and intensity. Never had to rely on pace, but the strong part is horrendously wrong.
Morientes was a bit part player with 3-4 good seasons for Real and Monaco.
Your description is spot on for a Morientes type player, sadly for you Huntelaar is on another level.

He'll adapt no problem and be a hit. I really hope we sign him now so you'll have to eat your Louis Litt shaped words.

Downing.

Selective much? He wasn't getting in the team much for whatever reason but still managed 1 in 3. Shall we talk about last season instead? Or this? Or his career stats which read 254 goals in 389 appearances?

He didn't do that badly in Madrid considering how in n' out of the line up he was (13 starts, 7 sub appearances) ... Same exact issue at Milan, 11 starts, 14 sub appearances.

Owen scored 13 goals in 18 starts and 16 sub appearances for Madrid ...

He started a total 24 games of those 45.
For Real he had 13 starts and for Milan he had 11 starts.
The rest were sub apperances and makes the stat look worse than it actually is.

Is he the Dutch darrent bent?

Decent a mid level clubs, failed at all big level clubs.

So he should fit in here then 😉

You comparing this lad to Owen now?

Owen more than proved himself at Liverpool and for england

Are you saying Huntelaar is unproven ? You don't always know whether a top level player will work out at a club e.g. Veron but you can't really doubt he shits goals

I asked a simple question - Do you call Owen's time at Madrid a failure?

And you fail to answer mine and miss the point again, in your love in with this guy.

He has has been at 2 big clubs and been shipped out pretty quick.

For the right fee and wages he maybe worth a punt given our options, though I we have our sights a little higher.

I'm not in love with this guy - but thanks for being unable to answer a simple question.

Was Owen shipped out of Madrid pretty quick too? Wait, that's another yes or no question and I'll miss your 'point'!

Have a good day.

I doubt we have the funds or level of attraction to reallistically aim much higher

IF true, it's not bad to get a proven club & international scorer ... If anything, we get a striker who Suarez knows and has worked well with and hopefully, takes that weight of his shoulders.

A lot of players fail at madrid due to their rotational door policy on managers/themes.

Milan he was injured a lot for. Hardly fair.

Fail at one big club, fair enough. Fail at 2 and you have to ask yourself is he really cut out outfor the top level

Owen he had proved himself at this other big football club called Liverpool

I was more thinking signing a younger player.

Did Owen fail at Real Madrid?

There's a difference between failure and under performance (be it due to appearances, starts/subs, injuries etc)
