Henderson said that the injury that caused him so much trouble last season was a kick to the top of his foot and the “stress response” on one of his metatarsals. “The problem with the second metatarsal healed a little bit slower than normal. I tried to come back too quick at one point which set me back a little bit. It was tough to go through but I’m stronger for going through that and I feel good in myself.”

So we can put that discussion to bed then. Which also means, fingers crossed, that he can stay fit for this season as well.

You're entitled to believe whatever nonsense you like, but unless Henderson's second metatarsal isn't connected to his plantar fascia then taking this at face value is dumb.

The former hockey player Peter Forsberg had the same problems with his foot. He made 14378 comebacks but it never got better.

I've got an injury with my plantar fascia now, it's a total prick of an injury.

Hmm, you'd think a direct quote from said injured player wouldn't be regarded as nonsense. I guess it is when it doesn't support your own views about the injury. Its like none of us have any basis to actually make a valid judgement of a situation without knowing the full story or have all the information at hand. Who would have fucking thought. Next up is Van Dijk and his injury I reckon.

Good news is that he's fit. Fingers crossed he stays fit. Even though he's taking some flack, he's an important member of the team.

Jordan Henderson on his injury in Dec 2015:
"But with my heel there isn't a time scale, there isn't really a cure. I've been pretty down about it because we couldn't find the answers. Now I'm at a point where I can function – where I can train and start playing some part in games. Hopefully I can continue like that and it will continue to get better"

Jordan Henderson on his injury in Jan 2016:
“It’s getting better. I felt okay against Arsenal. Hopefully with the run of games I can keep going and keep improving.Hopefully I can just keep playing and get as many games as I can because I’ve missed too many this season."

Jordan Henderson on his injury in April 2016:
“I feel as though now I’m starting to get back to the physicality - that’s a big part of my game - and when that’s correct, then everything else seems to flow much better. It’s not an issue. After games it still gets a bit sore, but it’s much better than how it was"

It's like a cancer patient who insists he's getting cured.

With all due respect what would Henderson know about his foot? I bet he doesn't even know many teeth he has

Okay, so far in this thread it sounds as though Henderson's foot problem is also affecting his face, teeth, and prick. Surely his elbows have got to feel at least a bit of tingling?

You would, yeah.

Is this why he got burgled on the half way line and Wellbeck almost scored in the first ten mins?

He's a nice lad and works hard though.

Thank you!

I was beginning to think I Imagined that & he really was boss at the weekend cos everyone was singing his praises.

When Keita gets here there's no way Hendo keeps his place, just a shame we have to wait a year.

He was crap. Especially first half. Didn't find a pass, and almost cost us a goal. On here everyone was going on about how great he was. Almost had to watch the match again

Yeah he started off badly and what annoyed the most was his crosses into the box that were always cleared. He was just giving the ball away.

That little chip he does to the far post every time he gets the ball on the edge of the box does my fucking head in

He played well at the weekend. He got mugged once early in the game, but also mugged them off twice that led to goalscoring chances. Don't mention that though eh. This thread went surpringly predictable in next to no time.

Modo, he permanently does your head in. When he has a bad game and, more obviously, when he plays well. Let's be honest.

I'm hardly his biggest fan, but his overall performance against Arsenal was good and he was an important part of how we dominated that midfield

Admittedly it was three against two, and Wiknaldum and Can were even better, but it's unfair not to give Henderson any credit

It is Modo who fucking hates him, and actually credited Henderson after the game but is now regressing. Woland has also always hated Henderson.

It's hard even for me to REALLY hate him.

He's dead enthusiastic and at his best is a consistent 7/10 performer, with an important role in the side

There's a bit of Spackman 87 about him, although being fair, Nigel wasn't ever Liverpool captain or indeed an obvious first choice

Don't hate him. He's just not very good, or nearly consistent enough. He sometimes plays really well. Some of his passing when it comes off is great. But he was our worst outfield player on Sunday

So you think I want him to play badly?
I've praised him every time he's done well and I will be hard on him every time he's wank. But yeah, I still think we could do a lot better than him.
