I have recently had to shell out around 2400 quid on three separate incidents (within 14 months) with respect to a relatively new boiler (7 yrs old). I am sure my letting agent is some how scamming me for money.
I have queried the reason for the works and have been given the following explanation, which makes no sense to someone like me who knows nothing about this area of work:
As you can see, the previous works replaced the Gas Valve regulating gas supply to the boiler – this is completely separate than the Diverter valve and Pressure Release Valve which are now faulty, and the 2 faults are not linked to previous work, and different faults commonly develop over time. Unfortunately with boiler systems, they can be costly and complicated to fix, often requiring significant investments to maintain, and I sympathise with this.
Can somone advise on whether the above makes sense? Is there a hotline to ring friendly plumbers and run these things past them?
Many thanks.
