Hi folks, just a quick post for a bit of advice. I work in a retail store part time (I won't name which), when the power went recently and we were pretty much forced to work in the dark against our will by the managers. When I voiced my concerns I was told abruptly to "get over it" and to "use a phone as a torch".
Anyway, I know this was illegal, and I'm definitely thinking of writing a complaint to HR. There's no way I'm being spoken to the way I was and expected to work in those conditions, all for the sake of a part time job for 6 pound an hour for 12 hours a week while I'm at uni.
What I ask, perhaps the more legal savvy of you or those who have experience of something similar, is how should I go about this and what can I expect? Cheers.
