..his feet stuck out the bed (and still do)

We talk about players who leave Liverpool that never go on to bigger things..

Well Crouch has broke that trend..

We should of never ever of sold him, top impact player.. I had a proper soft spot for, he should of been made to feel more wanted.

Bellers is another..

More bad management from Rafa ?

The champions League final in Athens incensed me that he chose not play him from the start!! When he came on, we scored!!!

Crouch wanted out simple as.

Shame though.
[/quote]

Crouch absolutely did not want out - he wanted to stay at Liverpool.

However, he did want games, he did want to play - particularly if he was playing well.

Ultimately, for whatever reason, Crouch left because he didn't feel he was getting a fair opportunity to play games.

Tbf if you're competing with one of the best for a solitary striker role then you will lose out. I reckon we should have gone 2 up top myself and kept the lanky beaut

We did play two up top, particularly at the start of the season. Rafa just decided he didn't really fancy Crouch any more.

I thought that was the season he pushed gerrard behind torres?

Never mind anyway, he didn't get games and he deserved them

Because he wanted to play, and no player (bar the stars) ever knows where they stand with RAFA even if they are completely in form!

Crouch wanted games, we couldn't give him them. Who would you rather see up front, Crouc or Torres?

Plus, as Rafa's alluded - he was offered far more money elsewhere than he was getting with us.

It's a fucking tough one alright:
- Sit on the bench for us, and earn X
- Play every week for someone else, and earn twice x

Hmmmmmmmmm... "BAD MANAGEMENT!"

You are right. Crouch was behind Voronin in the pecking order. Says it all really.

This is bollocks. Voronin had a number of games but I do not remember him being prefered to Crouch consistently. Also, Crouch had a poor start and RB stayed supportive for the longest time.

Doesn't really mattter if it's bollocks or a complete fabrication, it's all part of the anti-Rafa agenda, so let's just keep peddling it.

I meant he wanted out because he wasn't going to be guaranteed games.

The obvious answer is Torres..
although rafa could'v played 2 upfront in most games and had torres running off crouch's flick on's! it wouldv worked a treat
bad management on rafas behalf

I've never heard that before Ryan. When did Rafa allude it to be about money?

The interview I remember stated that we offered him a contract and wanted him to stay but he wanted more games. Crouch said much the same thing too.

Rafa does deserve some flack, regardless of whether he said he wanted Crouch to stay, simply because when he did get games and play well he was often dropped for the next game, and not just after Torres arrived.

Rafa was also heavily reluctant to pair Crouch with Bellamy and then Torres, but used Kuyt instead despite him often playing under par (at the time that was the case, he's since proven himself more and more). Most fans were screaming at him to try the partnerships out as he was the ideal partner for both (at least on paper) and had started to prove himself as a fairly regular goalscorer.

It's ok Rafa saying "oh we wanted him to stay, but he wanted games so what can you do?". Rafa had mis-treated him for the best part of two years, which ultimately led to him moving on. The fact this was all after Rafa stuck with him for an initial 19 game barren spell made it even more baffling.

out and out striker - torres
second striker/foward - gerrard

*scratches head*

hmmmm, why couldn't crouch get games...?

having said that kuyt was bought when crouch was on the books something I definately don't agree with.
people say there isn't an aggenda for the rafa in the press, what is said about crouch sitting on the bench for spurs? what was said about keane sitting on the bench for spurs?
