I must say, I couldn't figure out why Chelsea wanted him years ago, but his goals to game ratio became scary good once he moved there, and he also created a hell of a lot of opportunities for Drogba, Anelka and those wingers.
Never really performed for england though, and choosing him over Gerrard in his prime for the midfield role was crazy.
Top player for Chelsea though.

I thought the same, regardless of your opinion of a manager to tell him to his face in front of a room of people that he is making the wrong decisions either takes a lot of balls or a lot of stupidity. That guy sounded like a twat.

I thought the guy was clearly hinting at nepotism, the two guys he earmarks for glory are both related to very high profile London footballers past and present, one of whom was his bloody assistant if I remember correctly. I thought it stank at the time myself and I think the guy makes a good point about opportunity. This shit wasn't that unusual, plenty of managers have played relatives (including Ferguson!).

The best players do not always get the breaks, that's just a fact. But in this case it's hard to argue with Lampard and Ferdinand
