Step Forward Glen "haircut" Johnson, the new super left back of LFC.

Has Kenny saved us £5 million plus by moving him to the left?, is this good enough long term with Fabio as backup

He does have a sweet left foot for a right footer.

Genius from Kenny I say

Someone made the point about him looking defensively better at left-back than at right-back because of him having to constantly 'think' to make sure he doesn't fuck up.

I sort of agree with that, and this spell at left-back might just turn Johnson into a much better defender in the long run.

Certainly appears to have been a good decision.

Martin kelly bar getting rinsed a few times on saturday has totally stepped up to the mark and likewise glenjo on the left.

Longterm, probably not.

For the remainder of the season, I don't see why not.

If he can play well there and Kelly can continue to do well at RB then that's sorted.

We have had problems at Left Back for years so it will make a nice change to finally have some positive news about that position

I would question the wisdom of having Aurelio as back up though. Surely the main purpose of a 'back up' is that they can be relied upon to be available in an emergency. Aurelio can't be relied upon ever.

If it turns him into a better defender, it's a good thing. But his long term future is at right-back, as the best part of his game can see its full potential there. I feel (and hope) that Kelly will eventually move into the centre, and Johnson will make the right-back position his own (with an Ashley Cole-like improvement in his defending).

Well he has instruvcted them to keep it short and tidy as well as go forward when the teams moves forward, which suits both of them well.

It's a strange one though.

If it were an idea to give Kelly match time before eventually putting him in as CB it makes sense, but there's no chance he thinks Johnson could be a LB longterm.

Magic is not a long-term solution at LB but his spell there will improve him as a player.

Kelly is improving at) and has work to do.

I'd like to get a look at wilson before Carra returns.

If Magic's all-round game looks better over on the left, as it seems to, I wouldn't be in any hurry at all to move him back to the right. That would be a long way down my list of priorities, if indeed it happens at all. Keeping him on the left might be counter-intuitive, but all I care about is what I see happening out there in front of me.

I take it he was good there against Wolves then? (I didn't see the game as I was unconscious in hospital at the time.) Let's not forget he was fucking shit there at Blackpool, though, so it might be a tad early to mark him down as our future LB.
