According to Sky News, David Moyes is jumping on the new takeover bandwagon by claiming they are open to ground sharing with liverpool. hahah, fuck off

Yeah, heard that interview yesterday.

Once again, they see an opportunity, their only chance in fact, to get a new stadium.

Get to fuck you cunts.

Yeah, I heard an interview with Gollum on the radio, in which he tried to sound a bit coy about it to begin with but couldn't ultimately restrain himself from saying what mr.moo quotes there.

They're gagging for it, the cheap wannabe b@stards, because they know they'd be cadging a nearly free ride on our backs. As you both say, they can fuck right off.

I don't want a ground-share with Everton.

I don't want to play on a potato field each week.
I don't want the bitters sitting in our seats.
I don't want them sponging off the back of us.
I want everything which makes Anfield special bought across to the new stadium.

It's the worst legacy NESV could leave, IMO.

Looking at how the corporate side of the club has taken off, I'm confident that they could sell naming rights to cover at least 30% of the building costs.

I expect NESV to be a lot more business savvy and innovative in their approach.

A groundshare is not what we want or need. I don't foresee it happening under any circumstances.

I'd ground share if we couldn't really afford to build one for ourselves.
I don't want us to end up in the situation we were just in again.

This isn't about whether we're broke today or not, it's about the next 50/100 years of our fucking club.

Who knows what'll happen in the next few years, who knows where we might end up. Do you think we should forsake our history as the greatest club in the country, and shack up in one fucking SHARED stadium with those small-time nomark middling cunts just because we finished 7th once in 20 years and ran into financial problems?

If I have kids, I want them growing up and going to anfield or the new afield or whatever the fuck it is do ling as it's ours alone. Because that's what it's about: the shankly gates, the Hillsboro memorioum, the famous European nights. Not some pink seated, shite turfed amalgamation every fucking fortnight.

i think that might be a bit ambitious personally. everyone trumpeted arsenal's deal with emirates at the time, but right now it doesn't look particularly good. i think it was for £100m over 10 years, including shirt sponsorship; if you consder that we're currently attracting £20m a year for shirt sponsorship alone, then it becomes apparent that the emirates brand is effectively contributing nothng at all to the cost of the stadium. as the accounts rosco posted last night make obvious, the real magic ingredient in getting arsenal's ground built was the ability to redevelop highbury, something we won't be able to replicate.

now i'm not saying we couldn't do a better deal on naming rights than arsenal managed, but i think it's a bit of a stretch to imagine it being a major part of the financing.

It's difficult to gage what sort of deal we could get from selling the name of the stadium, especially in a recession, but it's one option I favour.

The Standard Chartered deal was a welcome surprise to everyone. If Purslow can pull of a similar deal, I think we could get a sizeable chunk to put towards the new stadium
