Scored by a 9-year-old. Whether you like hockey or not, it's great to watch.

that's impressive ... it's not the greatest goal ever but it's definitely the greatest goal i've ever seen by an under 10 year old!

It's not actually that great really, just caught the goaltender by surprise. I've seen Malkin score better 😉

Still, not bad for a 9 year old 🙂

I've seen that move before a few times. Still impressive.

What do y'all reckon is most impressive goal of all time in a competitive game?

Too lazy to Youtube for you but a couple standouts come to mind:

a) Ovechkin v. Phoenix a couple years back --> scores from his back near the corner after being knocked down
b) player from Michigan (Michigan State maybe?) scooops and shovels it in top corner from behind the net
c) Lemieux splitting the defense and removing Jon Casey's jockstrap in the 1991 Finals

The time the guy hit the puck from really far out, and it flew into the net. It went so fast you could barely see it.

That was a great goal.

I remember that goal - it was in the NCAA Playoffs and it was the game winner too if I'm not mistaken ... beautiful stuff to pull it off.

Funnily enough - Ryan's comment (i know i know, he was taking the piss) reminded me of that goal Larinov or one of the Russian red wings (maybe it was Yzerman, who remembers) scored from just inside the blue line that sailed over Brodeur's shoulder ... Cracking slapper that was.

Great penalty shot by Linus Omark:

Not really a competitive game but the goal which Owen Nolan called the shot against Hasek in the 1997 All-Star game was great too.

That is a great penalty shot - never seen it before ...

Nolan's goal was fantastic too ... Wasn't he smiling as he did it? and I think it was in San Jose too, which was nice as it was his team at hte time.

Love that penalty shot. Shootout goals aren't quite the same in my opinion but still lovely to watch.

That Nolan goal was amazing, if only because Hasek was nigh-invincible in those days.

woah talk about memories ... they mention Dino Ciccarelli ... Or seeing Fetisov or Derian Hatcher ... Ha ha ... and Mark Messier!

Yes, great memories. I saw a clip of the Canada Cup 1987 a couple of weeks ago. To see Gretzky and Lemieux play together against the USSR is really special.

I only really got into hockey once the North Stars became the Stars ... but reading up, and watching old clips, of Lemieux or the Miracle on Ice, etc makes you appreciate how the game was built today ...

If there's one player in recent times I wish could have stayed healthy and got to his peak - it's Lindros ... Man, he had it all.

See, this is one of the problems I have with ice hockey; seeing the fucking puck go in.

I couldn't work out what had happened until the THIRD frigging replay.
