So every year their fans expect them to go on a spending spree and every year their felt leaving disappointed. I think last season they only brought two players that for £20m (around £10m each). They brought another 2 but the fee's were nominal.

So this season a report appeared in the Evening Standard that the budget was a meagre £54m despite having large cash reserve of £159m.

@Rosco, you're an account wiz, how much of this is BS and bares no relations to actual funds AW's has at his disposal or is there more truth than meets eye in this report?

Arsenal are the first team since 1981 (35 years) to finish above Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea and still not win the title.
 
Plus what they get in SALES for players, $54M could be $80M. It;s better than what we usually spend.
