Good luck Gary Mc

The only way pompey will survive this season is by getting better players in during January. Gary seems drawn to thankless tasks.

Other offers Gary would take up:

Mr McCallister, this is Captain Smith, I'm on the Titanic. I won't lie to you, there are a few problems. Your presence would be appreciated. Pipe yourself aboard, there's a good chap - we're a bit understaffed.

Gary, luv, ITV is looking for a new Creative Director - any interest?

The Right Hon Gordon Brown would very much like you to be closely identified with hin in the capacity of his personal election agent.

Oi, Gary. President Obama's on the phone. Something about a health care plan...

Hello, there, Gary. It's Roy Keane...

[/quote]HAHAHAHAHAHA

Hi Gary this is Jim Lovell, slight problem we could use your help with....

Would you class him as a Liverpool legend?

Length of quality service = no
For his integral, and often pivotal, performances in the 2000-01 treble season = maybe

For THAT goal. Yes.

I think the main thing with Gary Mac is that no one had any expectations of him.
No one expected him to make much of a contribution to the side so when he started to become integral and he started to develop the partnership with Gerrard he became very popular very quickly. I think low expectations coupled with his amazing contributions have him higher up the legends ladder than some of our other esteemed players.

The goal against Everton was such a good goal though, so clever to spot it and go for it.
I went MENTAL when that went in. I met him once too, nice guy.

Nice bloke, but he's on a loser there and he'll be taking them down. Not a very good manager either. Maybe he could have done with a few more years under his belt as an assistant manager or something.

We were at my sister's house watching that game, and were just getting up to go home when Sir Gary scored. My sis is also a Red and the two of us terrified her cats by yelling the place down. ;D

BTW it wasn't only a great goal in itself - it also ignited our season. At the time we were just slouching along in not particularly good form, but after that victory we went roaring on to the Treble, which we've all tended to lose sight of after Istanbul but which was an amazing achievement in its own right.

More fool them if that's the case, though I have to admit that, given the choice, I'd have swapped it for a couple of league titles.

Thank god for that. He deserves a decent break for a change instead of being called in like Red Adair.
