It's a shame he's having to be on the left for now as I feel it detracts from his attacking playing. But yes, he's fantastic.

I join you in hearting Glen Johnson.
I used to be a critic due to his poor defense play, but these last few months he's been just fantastic.

He certainly has had some howlers positioning wise costing us goals against. But is he a bloody fun full back to watch? Yes absolutely. I love the man!
 
Nah, it wasn't a myth. His defending wasn't top-notch at all. Thankfully, he seems to have rectified that problem, and if he's still making mistakes, he's more than making up for it in his attacking game.
 
im definitely a member of the glen johnson fan club. Think he is a awesome fullback and would always have him in my team.
 
He's been brilliant for the last year, let's hope it continues, he's a menace when in this type of form.
 
Other players in the team, Reina, Skrtel, Agger, Allen and so on, have been responsible for more of our conceded goals these season than Johnson has, however it's only ever Johnson that gets labelled a defensive liability. I'll never understand it.

Johnson is at fault(or at least part of the fault) for a lot of our goals, mainly because he has to do a lot more running than the others. If he continues to be as good going forward, and decent defensively, then he's one of the first names on the team sheet. If he isn't as effective going forward, then his defensive abilities will have to improve to keep him in the team.

I have to disagree again. Each of the players you mentioned got his fair share of bashing when he made mistakes that cost us in goals (well. Agger never get ANY bashing from KHL while Skrtel gets a double share... 😉 I'm joking Kristian). There are threads calling for Pepe's head as well as doubting Allen etc.
I think you're being just a bit paranoid here.
 
Glen is one of my favourite players and the best RB in the league this year. I often criticized him in the past for allowing his man get his cross in and for occasionally switching off but he has addressed those issues.

He is a breath of fresh air going forward and I now trust him 100%. I love how he plays the ball out of defense, how he wins his fair share of aerial contests and how he terrorises opposition defenses. Less than a year ago he was linked with a move away and we we're told that Kyle Walker would take his RB spot for England. Not a chance.

Others have been criticised, but haven't been labelled a defensive liability like Glen has been, a label he doesn't deserve.
 
I still worry about Johnson defensively and that probably wont change until he puts in a string of fine performances against the best wingers in the country.

However, credit where credit's due, he's had a cracking season and offers a great deal going forward so fair play.
