...say we fail to qualify for the champions league, as it seems almost guaranteed qualification has helped us financially in recent seasons, i'd say we are dependant on it..

Could we be the next Leeds, very worrying?

Next season is the biggie if I am honest.... More teams will be challenging for a top 4 place ala Man City and the teams around us will grow stronger.... Rafa needs to make the correct signings and be very astute in the transfer market... I don't believe we will sustain the same challenge as the season just gone with the same or similar crop of players...

If we don't hit the ground running.. Champions league qualification may not be such a forgone conclusion..

Absolute nonsense and scaremongering.

We won't be buying Kaka or Ribery so we're "the next Leeds", Jesus Christ.

Considering Torres and Gerrard missed a lot of last season surely we can only improve if they are both to play more games. Also most of our squad had average enough seasons only Alonso, Aurellio, Reina and Kuyt could say they played near to their full potential throughout the whole season.

Comparing us to Leeds is way over the top, the debt is managable at the moment. Leeds were a joke of a club, heard a story yesterday that a new signing for Leeds Agent was going in to negotiate a contract with Leeds and was hoping to start the bidding at £25k a week only for Risdale to offer £37.5k a week straight off.

I thought Newcastle were 'the next Leeds'.

Our finances aren't good but we aren't and never will be another Leeds.

They need to get the stadium built. They can't afford to continue the current level of deficit spending without the stadium revenue for very much longer.

They need to fuck off. They're out of their depth and have neither the funds or clout to move us forward. A new stadium under their tenure would just see us stretched the very limit and teetering on financial collapse.

We're hemmoraging money just so these fuckers can sit in America and add one of the great names in football to their leverage portfolio.

if you fall short of champions league qualification, you will struggle to get back into it.. Given our current financial predicament If that was to happen, where would the money come from to sustain a challenge to get back into the top 4 ?? Inevitably players would need to be sold making that challenge all that little bit harder.

I worry for the future of this club financially, we are not exactly bringing through some quality youngsters either...

Such insight. This doesn't concern you anyway, only those who will actually vist the new stadium now every now and again.

lol

We've been badly let down by the owners, that's no lie. But campaigning against them as if they're the root of all evil is pointless and serves only to destabilise our great club.

I hold out hope that third or replacement investor with more financial clout will join our club and we'll be able to take advantage of the the economic climate to build our new stadium.

Until then I'll be thankful for the £20M+ purchases which could never have happened under the old owners.

One thing we dont put up with here is people slagging off 'OOTers'. It's out of order.

There's many people who cant go cos of where they live. My mate's just went the Spurs game, first match in 8 years, doesnt make him any less of a fan than I am, he lives in Perth, so it's simply not possible.

Feel free to call anyone a cunt though, we dont mind that.
