Will he believe again?

With all this talk of Gerrard getting his 100th cap and some saying he is past his best it got me thinking.

He hasn't exactly been banging them in and the dynamic side of his game seems to be fading fast but is there a chance he could morph into a Gary Mac type for us?

When he came he was old, slow, could pick a pass and had an eye for a goal but nobody expected him to be anywhere as good as he was. Is it wishful thinking to hope Gerrard could adapt to a similar roll now?

He's still probably the best finisher at the club and obviously a wonderful passer, we just don't seem to seeing any goals or assists apart from set pieces?

He wasn't 'slow'. He was slowing up, but that's another matter. Yes, though, Gerrard could do a similar role, but not yet.

That was more in reference to the still current speed Stevie has now. I just hope he learns to adapt and can still be a big influence on games in open play as it seems that side of his game is shrinking fast.🙁

Well he's a bright footballer, and if anyone can adapt it's him. It's surely mainly down to the quality of the players around him. At the moment he seems to be obliged to do a bit of this and a bit of that in every game, and it's making him appear much less accomplished than he still could be in a more coherent system.
