This is what Utd staff & senior players have done for years.

Make them feel like part of he club, & if they're good enough, we sign them. If not, enough players then see as us as a well run friendly family club & tell their mates in the game, so it stills pays off long term.

It's also a fucking nice thing to do.

Forshaw is excellent, he is a very dominant CM'er and (along with Harlee Dean) one of the 2 Brentford players who could make it in the EPL. It's impossible to be sure how lower league players handle the higher level but he looks better than Delph did in this division.

My gut feeling is he'll end up having a very succesful Championship level career and if he ever gets a chance at the EPL he'll fit in BUT I don't think he has enough about him to become a top 4 EPL player.

Ta. I have to admit Palace's experience with Dwight Gayle has reinforced how risky big money signings from the football league can be. Sure you can get good value, but anything over 3/4m and you have to ask yourself whether something on the continent is a better bet?
