Its no shock to any of us that we could do with a new left back and a right back, if we were to sell Konchesky and Johnson and buy two new full backs, who realistically would you like to see come in, how much would they cost and why what do they offer?
It seems most everyone rates Kelly so if Johnson is to be sold or scrapped I don't see why Kelly wouldn't play. As for the left side, I would be happy with Aurelio if he wasn't permacrocked. So, we need a left back. Darn.
I'm not convinced Johnson's concentration is good enough to be RB for us. He has the talent, but he switches off all too easily. Not convinced we should sell him yet, but there's more than a few doubts there.
LB is a bigger concern. No idea who we should buy though.
I quite like Gregory Van Der Wiel, plus Ajax are a selling club, but is he strictly a RB, cause its clear as day we need a LB first and I like Johnson.
We are stuck with Konchesky until next season... You are not allowed to play for 3 clubs in the same season.. He has already played for Fulham and us 🙂

Why oh why oh why oh why don't we try him at RM and play Kelly behind him. It is fucking so obvious.

They would defo offer å half season with silly excuses of how long time they need to get used to things.

I'm happy with Johnson at right-back under normal circumstances. I think the change of system (inviting teams onto us and playing a deep line) has affected him more than most in the side. A return to a higher line in a more attack-oriented side will see him recover his form soon enough. He's become something of a whipping boy at the club of late whilst players like Kuyt, on yet another horrific run of from (yet similarly affected by the change in system) escape censure as usual.
That all said, I'd also like to see him at RW ahead of Kelly. He's really quite a potentially skilful and pacy winger/right midfielder.
