Why does the death threat need to include a reminder of where Lovren was born?

Is the would-be assassin unsure about whether or not Lovren himself knows he is Croatian? It's all very odd.
Maybe there's a special method of execution involved for Croat targets.

Making him shoot his own feet off, perhaps.
 
I must be alone in liking the way it's phrased. The inclusion of u croatian adds weight to the veracity of the threat, and makes it sound somewhat genuine. It's hard to put your finger on why, wait I'm a genius let me think it through. So you'd easily dismiss a random internet nutter threat, but when they refer to one of your personal attributes in a matter of fact way such as we have here, it feels like the person is standing in front of you, or rather imagining themselves standing in front of you whilst saying that, which leads you to think that they're also imagining the act of killing you / making you watch as they kill your family, ergo veracity.

Perhaps it was signed From the Liverpool Supporters Club of Belgrade.
 
Assh*le but surely most players get sh&t like this every week from fans and rivals.

I've had a few death threats in my time it's never as easy thing to deal with but this seems like the normal course of events for footballers.

Let's be honest, a death threat is finding a horses head in your bed or hearing Liam Neeson, on the other end of a phone, whispering that he's going to find you. Lovren was victim of a pissed keyboard warrior. It happens every day to unpopular people. Still shameful though.

I doubt most players get this every week. If that is true People need to have a real look at themselves.
 
I know it's not quite the same but I used to work in a record shop in Cowley in Oxford. Right behind was an estate called Blackbird Leyes.
Notorious 'worst estate' in England type of gaff.
Stabbings a lot, windows smashed, occasionally riots started.

Anyway, these fucking bellends would always be in trying to Nick the latest ministry of sound or whatever and every single time you challenged them or kicked them out it was the same shit 'youre fucking dead' 'See you at 5.30' throat slit gestures outside the window etc.
5.30 nowhere to be fucking seen...like EVER.

However once in a blue moon someone would just accept you kicking them out, make eye contact and just nod or smile. Those fuckers were often to be found outside with a bat or a gang o'motherfuckers later.

Moral is anyone who says they will do x y or z won't do shit. The quiet ones you need to watch out for. Those motherfuckers kill yo ass.
 
He screenshotted the threat on his IG story. The person who sent it must be 13 years old at most. It's obviously deplorable but it is pretty standard online behaviour for that generation. I think is a bit of an overreaction and cry for sympathy.
