Ok so not sure if this is the right place for financial advice but collectively I don't know of a better 'group' of honest/knowledgeable people!
I want/need to start thinking about the longer goal and in particular saving a small amount (initially) for retirement or at least longer term. I have pretty much no knowledge of the stockmarket so would not trust myself to invest but would be happy to you use a cheap (but effective) broker! We have a bit of money in a hsbc investment account which has done well do far. We (my fiancee and I, 27 and 26) have also thought about property but again wouldn't know where to start. I would be open to any advice.
Another issue is that I am currently living in Thailand and before that I lived in Australia. I would like if possible to save/invest internationally so that I am not tied to any country. Buying property in the UK (or elsewhere) also becomes difficult when you are not a permanent resident. I think we need to start dipping into a few pies if you know what I mean rather than saving in one spot.
I received an email about betterment, Not sure if anyone of you guys have seen that?, it is an online investment tool which looks great and really user friendly. The only problem is its only open for US residents. I was wondering if anyone knows/uses any in the UK or even better internationally?
