King Kenny's going to galvanise the fans for sure.

But do you think he'll have the same effect on the players? If some rumours are to be believed, Gerrard and Carragher rallied for Hodgson, why not Daglish then?

On the media side of things, ex-players like Keegan, McManaman and Barnes who basically back Hogdson for more time? Would you get more backing being a Brit manager?

I'm sure he'll have a big effect on the players no doubt about it..

Dalglish deep down may of wanted this job??

As for the ex players they don't know what there on a about them 3 don't have the managers touch and its shown.. If we'd of kept him longer we'd be bottom material in a breath...

Gerrard and Carra may have wanted Roy in the summer, but you can be sure they don't want him now. Kenny has to bring a feel good factor, not least by the fact he's not Roy, but also by the obvious respect he'll have from all the players. I do hope they'll still have that respect for him as a manager once he gets to work.

Results will be the main thing though. And if he can't improve on Roys results so far, he'll lose respect as the current manager quite quickly(I don't think he'll lose respect for what he's done in the past though).

King Kenny will bring the feel good factor and get us playing like Liverpool and the results will follow.

I'm thrilled!

A special mention to Gerrard at this moment. Had he scored that penalty we would have crafted "a famous equalizer" and none of us would have felt good today 🙂

I'd love to know what went through his mind as he stepped up to take it, though I actually wonder if he even knew.

The "Anybody but Roy" sentiment is easy to understand. Defeatist attitude seeping into play, genuine foot in the mouth interviews, etc. Yeah, Kenny would also be judged on results, can't ask for a tougher start but good results at Old Toilet and Goodison will strengthen his hand. Some have said that there's a risk that things would go wrong and his reputation tainted. I feel strangely confident and for once am really looking to the upcoming matches!

For me it wasnt anybode but Roy. Martin ONeill and his type of guys wouldnt have made a difference for me. Hence it was only King Kenny among the once available I guess.

'roy will be sacked after the wolves blackburn game regardless'

This appointment is 6 months too late but it finally happened.

This is a brilliant opportunity for Kenny to shut up the critics and naysayers.

I'm confident that he'll excel!
