Fap time in Denmark

But surely the fact eriksen CAN play other positions (as can suso) means that it's not a case of either/or

True but let me put it this way - if I said to you that Suso will be as good as Eriksen in 12 months time, would you rather spend 25M on a similar player on a striker?

Of course I'd love to have a player like Eriksen. We've certainly got room for good footballers at the club. I'm just being pragmatic with regards to the funds we'll likely have available (never mind the fact that it would seem unlikely that we'd get him).

Obviously I'd pick suso, but that's not a guarantee though. Is it a risk worth taking, hoping am unproven 18 year old comes good?

Yep and we need goal scorers

Well it was a hypothetical question based on us knowing that Suso will come good. I'm hoping that the coaching staff will have a good view on this. Of course Suso might just leave!

Zaha the new (more expensive) victor moses?
No. Moses went to Wigan when he still was just raw potential and I have to say, having watched him for the last few seasons, he's never totally fulfilled that potential and I doubt he'll succeed at Chelsea. Zaha has blossomed recently and looks a better player than Moses ever did (or does now).

I never once suggested Moses as a potential signing when he was at Palace because I was never very convinced but I'm 90% sure that Zaha is good enough for a team with top 4* ambitions.

*I'm aware that Moses already plays for a team with top 4 ambitions but I still think that was an odd signing, as was Sinclair signing for City.......Zaha is already better than them both and will continue to improve as the season goes on.

Liverpool and Manchester City join £12m race for Zaha

Liverpool and Manchester City are ready to rival Arsenal for Crystal Palace sensation Wilfried Zaha.
The Gunners lead the £12million race for the 19-year-old winger and former No 2 Pat Rice watched him score twice in a 4-3 victory over Burnley last weekend.

Teen sensation: Crystal Palace's Wilfred Zaha

Arsenal see Zaha as a potential replacement for unsettled Theo Walcott, a target for both Manchester City and Liverpool.

Walcott's representatives will hold talks with the Arsenal hierarchy during the international break in a bid to thrash out a new agreement.
Walcott — who has less than 12 months left on his current deal — rejected a contract extension worth £75,000-per-week.

The following line-up would have the potential to be crowned winners of the Premiership in a few years time.

....................................................Reina.................................................
Johnson....................Skrtel........................Agger..............................LB
...........................Allen....................................Shelvey............................
Suso........................................Eriksen......................................Sterling
..........................................Suarez.........................................................

Add this Zaha bloke to the mix as well if you like haven't seen him ever but Pesam seems to think he's decent like. 🙂

I reckon that team would be more like Arsene Wenger's Arsenal of the last 5 years - good to watch but they never win anything.

I was thinking more of Barcelona of the past years to be honest... but you could be right of course.

Eriksen had a poor Euros by his standards but believe me this kid is all talent.

A rare breed of footballer imo with both silky skills, intelligence, movement, agility, shooting power combined with the fact he's a truely grounded lad and a team-player too.

Last time I checked he topped the ratings chart for the Eresdivisie Season 12/13 and with a record of around 1 goal/assist every two games in more than 120 games for Ajax (from the years 18-20) we'd be daft not to at least trying to secure his services - especially as he would want to make sweet love with Rodgers style of football.

Some highlights of his career to date:

Yes please.

He will also have his choice of clubs so Liverpool won't be his destination
We managed to get Sahin ahead of Arsenal which showed we must now sell ourselves quite well.

But yeah, if Real, Barca, Chelsea, United, etc, come in for him then we wouldn't stand much of a chance.

Don't underestimate the power of repeated face touching. It's our ace.

if we had to choose between Eriksen, Zaha of Vischer fischer, who would you go for?

Based on what I have heard, and not seen!, I think Fischer is the one, as he scores goals!

Can we have all three please?

Fischer has only recently turned 18 mate and even though I believe he's a major talent, Eriksen is the more developed player and taylor made for Rodgers way of football. More physical ready for England as well.

You are right though that Fischer is perhaps more what we need as we lack goals and he's a ball-playing poacher, but there's still some way for him to be ready for senior first team especially in the Prem.

I haven't seen Zaha at all but by the sound of it he's an awesome prospect. More of a winger perhaps than Eriksen and Fischer?

Personally with the developments of our current crop of youngsters in mind I wouldn't mind an Eriksen/Zaha window come January. Yeah perhaps we'd still be a striker short but on the other hand with all the talent of Youth who knows a goalscorer could still emerge. Yesil perhaps?

Rodgers tiki-taka style of football does need a nimble footed AM in advanced position and no one quite fits that bill in our side at the moment. I watch guys like Xavi and Silva and the way they can turn away from defenders - a lot of the time by doing something as simple as a 180 degree turn with the ball - and buy themselves time and space is fantastic.

The one exception to my first statement is Suso. If we genuinely believe he has what it takes to be a top class player we may be better off investing our limited funds in other areas of the team.

Joe Allen played that role at Swansea mate.

Lucas coming back will push Allen further up the field.

Back to Eriksen, YES PLEASE. United were linked to Fischer over the summer I think.

Perhaps but I havent really seen much flair or creativity from him so far. Does he really have the talent we need with the ball at his feet to play a true no. 10 role?

More than anyone else we have at the club, yeah.

You could argue that that's not saying much of course, but he's got a lot more in his locker than he’s been allowed to show thus far in the DM role. I’ve never known him to even be able to play the role he currently does for us as a sitting player, I’d always championed him as the more advanced ‘link’ player between midfield and attack – which he did so well at Swansea.

I don’t think he’s a number 10 in the Silva/Rooney way that you might be inferring to, in that he’s not going to dance past players, play neat slip-ins and score 15 odd goals – but he will absolutely link our midfield with the attack better than we are currently showing.

I’d go as far as saying that Lucas coming back into this side is one of the most crucial things that can happen. It’ll shore us up defensively, provide protection to the centre-backs, but massively – it’ll help our forward play.

At the minute we’re completely disjointed as an attacking side cos everything breaks down the second it goes forward. Our only avenue to moving forward and retaining it is through Sterling – which is unfair and easy to negate (teams will work that one out in a second). Suarez is getting boxed out, and I don’t think Sahin can play that role. Allen’s perfect for that link role. He constantly moves, keeps it, has a fucking unbelievable touch, and will play that 4th line better than anyone we’ve got. It’ll help sterling and Suarez enormously, and in one tactical shift gives us another avenue to attack.

I’m confident in it anyway.

I'd have thought that was Sahin's position, but you've touched on that. So Lucas at the back, Sahin just ahead of him, and then Allen playing this AM role? Certainly would like to see it, hurry back Lucas.

Well yeah, I think Allen is well suited to playing the Xavi role which is to link the midfield and attack but as you figured I was referring more to the no.10 role - I think we need that.

When City started playing more possession football and pretty triangles they initially found it difficult but they'd have been lost without Silva. We've seen that teams start to sit back a little more against us now and we struggle to break them down (unless they're hopeless, see: Norwich).

Hopefully Suso stays and steps it up a notch because he looks closest to what we need in the current squad.

Gerrard has misplaced more passes in the oppositions half than anyone else in the Premier League, 109 passes.

Thats not good..
