Since it was mentioned in another thread, let's sort it out here and now. I don't know a whole lot about them but I'd have no problem getting one for the use of the site.

What problems might arise ?

I think it's a membership card nowadays Ross. I think if a few on the site chipped in it would be worth getting a few and using them for tickets for all comps. Never know what it can lead to.

On my phone now, but i'll write up something decent in a while. It's a great idea. I wonder who came up with this.

It's an idea, and as Sunny, Krump and I suspect tickets could be as hard to get hold of as they were some years ago (hopefully). Plus if they redevelop Anfield they are going to be particularly scarce.
It probably needs to be administered by a bit of a committee, just in case someone falls over.

Ah right.

Regardless, site cards is a damn good idea. I was hoping the new owners may scrap them though TBH.
Cant see it happening myself. They probably sell in excess of ten thousand of them every season (that is a random figure BTW) and at £30 a pop that is another £3 million worth of income.

Plus it makes it easier to procees ticket sales.

Getting a few site membership cards is a great idea, subject to setting down some guidelines for their use.
I have used mine to get tickets for not only myself but a couple of other lads this season and once I/they went online when the ticket sale commenced tickets were always successfully bought.

They're horrific for people like me who can't afford more than a couple of games a season.

That's why a site card(s) makes perfect sense though.
They make the price of a ticket pretty expensive for me as I too only go to a couple of games every season. However they pay for themselves by virtue of the fact that I can snap up cheap flights over to Liverpool confident that I will be able to get my hands on a match ticket. Wait till I have my hands on a match ticket and the flights over would be astronomical and well over my budget.

I bought the membership the season before last. Never had a problem getting a ticket. If you get two cards you can link them up thus allowing people to sit beside each other. I didn't get it this year as I was expected to be in Canada but our departure was delayed so luckily the count was kind enough to share his.

The online sales page can be a bitch but I heard they have improved it. There is also the credit card line which brings you to an operator to purchase tickets. To purchase tickets online all you need is the membership card number and password to login. If you ring the hotline you need card number, name and address of card holder.

The only snag for starting out is that the card won't have any credits accumulated. For a lot of the category A games (United, Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Spurs, etc) you need to have credits accumulated from the previous season. However that is only for the first day of sale. Tickets can still be bought the next day during the general sale, once again online or over the phone. I used always get sorted on the general sale, a lot of the 'better' tickets would be gone but fuck it you we're still in the ground. If we accumulate credits it can only stand to us for the following season.

Same goes for away games and European ties. For example, if you purchased a ticket for all the early rounds in the Europa league then you would be eligible to purchase tickets for the knock out stages etc. The purchase information is released by the club outlining what credits are needed and what days you can purchase. First day of sale is usually 28 days before the game. So plenty of time to plan and book cheap flights.

A good suggestion would be to have a draw like last time and select games at random for those who paid in. If you didn't want he game or couldn't go you could pass up the option, trade etc. Just like the way we did it this year. The european knock out fixtures could be done on a lottery basis also. Anyone who helped accumulate credits by attending a group game would be entered in to a draw for the knock out phase and so on. If a person who attended a group game and was selected for a knockout game passed up this option then a lottery for those interested would be held.

We might not see many exercise the option to use the card to purchase a ticket but what harm. The cost of the membership card would be peanuts between us and non use would only mean we haven't accumulated credit. No monetary loss would occur.

It is a good idea and would act an insurance policy for getting tickets during our renaissance under Kenny.

Trying to, Mike..

I don't know when I can come back to England once I've left; I'm just hoping to time any visits to Norwich with the away game.

It's desperate, but I guess you can call me Dan.

A possible Mis-Count Count 🙂

I might contribute as well because 1) I actually plan to attend a match next season and 2) If 1 fails it can be a thank you for the bestest forum ever and I doubt it will be that much per person?

If newbies are allowed(?) then I'm in.

Only got to one game this season and I'm determined to go to a few more next.

Im definitely up for this - im gonna be getting another membership card my self but its unlikely ill be able to make a lot of home games so you guys are welcome to use it as well...
