It's on tonight at 7:30 on Setanta.

I didn't watch the first leg, but read that we got humped 4-1, so this probably won't have a good ending, but might watch it anyways.

Arsenal have just scored. Ayala looked lost and Bouzanis stayed rooted to his spot awaiting the back of the net to ripple instead of coming out. Our defence is really really poor.

Fair play to the team for making the final, but this Arsenal side are unfortunately a class apart. They're going to get beat heavily again if this continues.

youth cups mean fuck all, a much more tangible return is a player from the youth system making the first team and we have that with insua.

Err, yeah. Thanks for that.

Anyways, the first half has ended and Arsenal are 1-0 up with Steve Bould looking rather smug on their bench. Rightly so I suppose. If this was FIFA, I imagine they'd be carrying the ball out with their keeper and doing random skills in their own half.

Our best player (by a country mile) has been the Swedish left-winger, Ka... I'll just call him Kaka for short. This is because he is fantastic with the ball at his feet and hasn't had to rely on his team-mates as much.

The 15yold LB we've brought in (Robinson?) is getting a raping of epic proportions. I don't know where he is hiding, but in the last 15-20mins, they were finding their way to goal so easily down that side. But then, it doesn't help that the defence as a whole is pretty awful.

Ayala has carried over his form from the first leg, he is hopelessly out of his depth. Similar style of defender to Paletta

Very good goal by Dalle Valle to make it 1-1.

Dalla Valle dinks the ball past a defender and then slots the ball past the keeper into the corner of the net. Good goal.

I have hopes for him.

Well, that's a shame. We've enjoyed a decent 15min spell since scoring, but the two CB's have managed to screw up yet again, so it's 2-1.

Kennedy gets himself into all kinds of trouble and allows the Arsenal player goal side, who plays the ball across the box only for it to hit Ayala and roll in.

Get rid of them both.

Isn't Kennedy already being released at the end of the season? Or did I imagine that?

Well, there's a surprise. 😉

Incidentally, that's hardly a Finnish surname. Where's his dad from?

Italy.

After watching that, I'm afraid Kennedy, Ayala will not make the grade. Truly woeful by the pair.

Ince went missing for large parts of the game. Amoo runs into too many blind alleys.

It's not all bad though, we were just raped by a team on top of their game.

99 goals in 38 games says it all from that Arsenal yoof team.

😀 Well...he chose us instead of Chelsea who offered him twice as much. Promising start! If he can achieve 1/10 of what Hyypiä and Litmanen did for us he´s worth the £1m we bought him for.

Don't get me wrong, Jari was a great player but what exactly did he do to be bracketed with Hyypia in terms of what he did for Liverpool?

Mark the date, on 26th May 2009 and on the 325634985723198556236658343532th time of asking, Arsenal's greatest youth academy in the universe actually wins something.

Well, I think you have to concede that the Arsenal youth team is very good, which is why they gave our lads a 6-2 pasting.

I could see a few of the Arsenal lads making it to the senior squad, whereas I couldn't really make similar predictions about our players with any confidence. Our team seemed to lack pace, which you can't get away with in the Premier League nowadays.

Well.

Oh dear oh dear, where to start?

We lost for many reasons, but i'll try to keep it concise.

We don't have tall black athletic players who can jump high, so the long ball is pretty pointless 9 times out of 10.

Neither full back is fast, and isn't fond of supporting the wingers who, more than anything needed a runner.

Thomas Ince should start acting like a team player.

Wisdom is Plessis MkII with the genes of Gerrards great great great grandmother.

Bouzanis-meh, shaky, couldnt command his box, mediocre distribution.

Robinson-Little boy lost, no invention, pass backwards and sideways man.

Ayala & kennedy-Neither will make it, but at least Kennedy has some fucking heart and desire.(i reckon he'll make it at Tranmere or somewhere a la David Raven)

irwin-Stingray was subdued today, and seemed to lack confidence. Really should have helped Amoo, but wasnt upfor the fight

Wisdom-MEH, see above.

Amoo-Lively, and with support, could have been so much better. The Arse defenders were shitscared at times and triple marked him frequently.

Ince-Has to be less selfish, and look for the pass once in a while

Buchtmann-I prefer him at left back. Although he gave a good account of himself, his lack of support from others left him like a fish out of water

Kakanickliccccc-Looked alright in busts, similar to Amoo, and would have thrived with someone to play off.

Dalla Valle-played alright, good goal, but fuck all support and long balls made it a long night for him.
