Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool are to be warned about their future conduct by the FA.

English football’s ruling body are concerned by the comments and briefings from inside Anfield in the wake of the Luis Suarez tribunal.

Liverpool have reluctantly accepted the eight-game ban meted out to Suarez after he was found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra.

The FA is particularly unhappy about Dalglish’s comments condemning the handling of the case and his insistence on continuing to protest the Uruguayan’s “innocence”.

Liverpool’s legal team had made a point of thanking the FA for their handling of the case prior to their verdict.

Although at this stage the FA will refrain from formally charging either Dalglish or the club with any offence they will remind them in the strongest possible terms of their responsibilities.

Any further outburst is likely to spark formal action.

The FA are also increasingly concerned that Suarez is likely to return from his ban to face Manchester United on February 11 at Old Trafford. They want the clubs to do everything in their power to defuse the potentially explosive encounter.

The letter is likely to serve as a warning for Dalglish and the club not to inflame the situation further in the run up to the game.

What the fuck??? The FA can really go to hell. What makes them think they are above criticism? They screw up an investigation and made a predetermined verdict.....they are rightly being criticised. Why can't the club explore any other avenue of justice where the FA is not involved in deciding the verdict....because this has gone on long enough.

What makes them think they can dictate how a club can field a player in a game or not? It's multi million dollar business, and Suarez alone cost 25 million in transfer fees and even more in wages. What the fuck makes them think they can dictate how and when he plays? They are driving a quality player out of the club because they wanted make a statement? They can go fuck themselves.....how is anyone supposed to run a business, if the field of play is unfair?

Read the other day that of the last 473 cases , two were found not guilty. And 0 was overturned on appeal, 0....

The FA are a joke.

The FA are a bunch of fuck ups they can not even get an appeal for a red card right that's how fucking crap they are. To be honest they are not much better than FIFA!

i read that the other day and they seemed to be offering it as proof of how good their disciplinary system is ...but they make the decision so can just find everyone guilty if they want !! ridiculous

The FA has a 99.5% conviction rate which means, as soon as you're charged you're guilty. To me its an indication that process is bent as fuck

Yep. Mainly because they are the police, judge and jury.

It's at times like this that you find out who your friends are.

Our friends don't seem to include any of the many former Liverpool players who have profited from their association with the club to obtain comfortable, very well-paid jobs in the media. The most supportive comments I have heard from any of them is that the club has handled the episode badly. The implication is that the club should have accepted the injustice of the FA's disciplinary procedure, issued an apology that they didn't believe in, and punished Suarez in some way.

I think it would have been very dishonourable and insincere of the club to have behaved like that. The right reaction of injustice is to fight it - to cry out against it.

The one former Liverpool player who did not seem desperate to avoid saying anything controversial was John Barnes, who was briefly interviewed on Saturday by ITV as part of their FA Cup coverage. Barnes didn't resort to "the club has handled it badly" and said he thought the club had reasons to dispute the FA committee's fairness.

Hahahahh dalglish should reply to their letter with this

The FA can go fuck themselves.

I hope when asked about this Kenny simply smiles & says something along the lines of, 'Well the FA aren't running Liverpool Football Club, when they are maybe I'll start to worry about what they think'

In a democratic society, it seems wrong that a sport administration body like the FA are able to behave in such a Stalinist fashion.

The FA reminds me of that TV producer in Annie Hall when he's showing off his range of canned laughter options: 'Press this one for belly laughs, press this for medium-sized chuckles...' Alvy Singer says 'Do you have booing on that?' It's laughable those idiots still try to claim the moral high ground over Blatter because they're just as corrupt as he is.

imho the fa want to be percieved as being proactive in their fight against racism and so made an example of suarez and still want to be percieved as proactive so will not let this drop so all parties can move on.

They want to be seen as pro-active in their fight against Blatter. All the hacks know this, but most of them are England mad Blatter haters, too. Racism has, alas, rarely bothered them in the past.

if rooting out racism what the cause of the red rag to the bull then that is to be admired but I doubt that it is. 8 games? come on, cantona got only a few more games for kung-fu kicking a fan live on tv.

I was listening to "Sportsweek" on BBC Radio 5 Live this morning, hosted by that prat Garry Richardson. He's the idiot who rushes up to tennis players at Wimbledon and asks them silly questions at inappropriate times.

There was a long interview with Piara Powar of "Football Against Racism in Europe - FARE." Predictably very hostile to Liverpool with everybody in the studio joining in the condemnation.

Powar's recommendation was that the FA should charge both Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool Football Club with "bringing the game into disrepute."

The type of offence which doesn't exist in proper law but would be very understandable to prosecutors in the former Soviet show trials.

The head of European football's anti-racism group has described Liverpool's treatment of the Football Association over the Luis Suarez affair as "beyond the pale".

Piara Powar, executive director of Football Against Racism in Europe (Fare), believes the club's defence of their striker has set a bad example.

Powar said: "It is a constant undermining of the FA's role.

"The way Liverpool have dealt with this has disconcerted many observers."

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek, he added: "The environment at Anfield is so driven - in terms of the paranoia that some fans feel - by expressions of injustice from Liverpool, especially over the last few weeks."

Suarez was found guilty of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra by an FA-appointed independent regulatory commission last month, and is currently serving an eight-match ban.

Powar has previously criticised Liverpool for their response to the Suarez affair, even calling on the FA to charge the club and manager Kenny Dalglish with bringing the game into disrepute.

He renewed his criticism, adding: "If you look at the comments Dalglish has been making, if you look at how Liverpool resort to defending what they see as an injustice, look at the way their fans have been whipped up into a tribal fervour.

"Some of the words being used to describe the FA and its role in governance on these sort of issues, that is really beyond the pale."

Powar is also concerned about the abuse aimed at footballers on social networking websites, which he attributed to "the way in which fans feel they can get on something like Twitter and make comments without accountability".

He added: "There is nobody touching them on their shoulder looking at their comments and saying, 'No, that is not what is acceptable'."

Lord Ouseley, chairman of the Kick It Out anti-racism campaign, has also previously labelled Liverpool "hypocritical" over their handling of Suarez affair.

It is understood that the FA has no plans to charge either Liverpool or Dalglish.

Followed in second place by Col Gaddaffi on 96% and Robert Mugabe in third on 94%

Wow - just checked that and it's right

Very interesting what you don't read in the newspapers!

Welcome to Six Crazy Minutes, BoysPen!

Seems like you are a right-thinking person!

I hope you have some fun in this forum. 🙂

Boys pen. Now there's some memories. Just reminds how (relatively) soulless Anfield is now compared to then. Inevitable, but sad.

The netting round the boys' pen was mainly to protect the rest of the crowd from the boys! ;D
