We're clearly struggling for confidence and I'm afraid ultimate responsibility for that has to rest at Rafa's door, but last season showed that at least of some of our players can play a good deal better than current form might suggest if and when spirits are high.

I thought Portsmouth was the demonstration of our problems Judge. We looked absolutely clueless when we reached the final third - and it wasn't for lack of searching either.
Lucas, Mascher, Agger - they were all looking desperately for the movement and options that would attract a pass and couldn't find it. I truly think it is our lack of one player; Xabi. I don't think it's a role, nor a player to fill that role that we're missing. Xabi is the player we are missing and Aquilani can't replace him nor, do I think, can anyone else. The team desperately needs a calm, passing player from the back of the pitch to take advantage of two amazingly dynamic players. Once we get further up field the space condenses and the effectiveness of those two dynamic players is diminished.
It's not to say that Xabi is the best player in the world or the perfect player from the back; his game and strengths just complimented those of Torres and Gerrard tremendously. I truly think that for Rafa and LFC to reach the heights of last year without Xabi the makeup of the team and its attacking approach will have to be re-engineered. To that extent, I suspect (charitably, you and others may say, but IMO the signs are there) that Rafa hadn't always intended to stick to last season's pattern.
My reading of this season so far is that Rafa's innate conservatism has unfortunately reacted to the perfect storm of bad luck we've suffered by sticking to the tried and trusted after all. My mind goes back to Houllier reverting to type the season after we so nearly won the league under him, when we shipped a couple of goals here and there despite playing some great stuff and leading the league at the time, and he drew our horns right back in again, at which the players were (I thought) visibly disenchanted. Could the players' lack of fight and confidence this season have a similar cause?

A new manager won't come in and win the league this year or next year, it will take at least a year to get rid of the shite and construct a new side. Our next shot at the title will be 2011/2012 so no title for gerrard or carragher then. Thanks a fucking million Rafa ya dream wrecking bastard.
I can't wait for the world cup. Can't wait to enjoy a game of football that actually means something again.

We are 2-3 first team players off a superb team.
All we need is some fucking investment, we needed it in the Summer but got done over, the fact we never got it and had to rely on what we have (minus Alonso) is scandaleous.
I can guarentee its not what the manager wanted either!.
All around us we saw other teams strengthening, and overtaking us.
I will blame rafa for his approach which I feel is wrong, and I will blame him for bizzre substitutions.
But I won't blame him for that, we needed a couple of pieces for a jigsaw, and some cunt had run off stopping us finishing the picture

Thats the reason why for the first time my faith in Rafa has been slightly dented mate , allthough i still back him to come good.
Whilst many call for change now though, i'd urge people to consider the position our club is in, and who we are likely to be able to get in to replace him . Rafa may have his faults, but he remains one of the best around and he now knows the club inside out.
Don't forget that the last time they looked at other options they came up with Jurgen.......
