Thoughts on line up for the game?

I think Jones has earned the right to keep his place and Assaidi has also earned a start (and from experience, Rodgers does reward good performances in the EL with PL appearances)

------------------Jones------------------
Wisdom--Skrtel--Agger--Johnson
-------------------Allen------------------
-------------Sahin----Gerrard---------
Sterling------------------------Assaidi
-----------------Suarez-----------------

It would be interesting to see how Shelvey/Suso fit in to this too.

I definitely think Assaidi has done more to deserve a start than Suso right now but I think Suso will play.

Also, i like how the forum automatically puts the squiggle under the S of Sahin

I would like Henderson in the middle, he has played well when asked to do the defensive midfield duties and I can see moyes making sure tackles are flying in this one.

I'd go with Brizzle's line up. For me Assaidi has done enough to get a start and I think with his pace and skills he'll give Neville a tough afternoon. he also doesn't seem to get phased when it gets a bit physical; the West Brom game in the cup being a good example

Yep I agree about Assaidi, bring on Suso if he, Sterling or Sahin are being ineffectual. However like Keniget said, I think Rodgers has already made his mind up on this one.

I'd rather see Suso start every game. He's an absolute gem of the future and deserves persevering with.

Yep Brizzle is spot on I reckon. Bit of a choker for Downing who I thought played well last night.

He's done very little of note so far though, and I doubt he's going to from that right-wing position. Sure he needs games but not at the expense of players who might have greater impact than him currently.

He'd more than likely be giving Coleman not Neville a tough afternoon . He's pretty much nailed down the right back slot. Could be a good match up!

Pepe back training today. ( and conceeding)

Carra seems to get a run out in these derby games aswell. Whether Brendan does the same we'll soon find out.

I'd play Suso ahead of Sterling. Surely Sterling is more dangerous but I'm more impressed with the link up between Suarez and Suso.
Also Suso as left footed player would fit in on the right.

I think Assaidi has earned a start over Suso in this one. I like Suso and rate him very highly, but he wasn't great against Reading and he doesn't have to start every game. Assaidi had a stormer last night. Rodgers has a history of rewarding good performances with Sterling and Suso, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him do it again. I hope he does. I was very impressed with Assaidi last night. Keeper is dependent on Reina's injury. I think the back four picks itself, I'd go with Gerrard, Allen and Shelvey, then Assaidi Suarez and Sterling.

Fudgie just said Reina's back in training and will be assessed tomorrow. He said there are no new injury concerns, so Johnson's okay.

Agree with every word, except I'd go with Sahin over Shelvey. A front 3 of Assaidi, Suarez and Sterling excites me.

David Moyes said yesterday that he wants harsher penalties for those guilty of diving and admitted that he is concerned about Luis Suarez's reputation ahead of tomorrow's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
Suarez was accused of trying to con his way to a penalty by the Stoke City manager, Tony Pulis, earlier this month and the Uruguay international has been caught up in a number of other controversial incidents during his 21 months at Anfield.
Moyes, the Everton manager, fears fans could lose interest in the game unless the football authorities act to cut out diving by handing those responsible lengthy suspensions.
Suarez, 25, was at the centre of the incident which saw the then Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell harshly sent off in the corresponding fixture last season as Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners at the home of their rivals.
"I would because I think he has got history," was Moyes' reply when asked yesterday whether he had concerns about Suarez after last season's events at Goodison. "But I am not the referee. But I tell you what it will do, it will turn supporters away from football. It is hard for the referees, it really is. But it will turn supporters away from it if they think players are conning their way to results."
As recently as 7 October, when Suarez fell under the challenge of Stoke's Stephen Nzonzi and Marc Wilson during a goalless draw at Anfield, he was criticised for trying to influence referees. Replays showed he had not been touched, dropping to his knees in an appeal to win a penalty.
Referee Lee Mason took no action at the time but Pulis made his irritation clear after the game.
Andre Marriner has been charged with keeping control of tomorrow's meeting, and Moyes wants tougher bans handed out for those found guilty of conning referees. "There are not that many players who do it," added Moyes. "Banning? If you did that it wouldn't take long to cut it out. It wouldn't take much to employ four or five people on a panel – players, managers and referees. I think it would be easily done."
Everton are six points ahead of Liverpool but Moyes said: "Everton's sole focus shouldn't be on finishing above Liverpool. We have to think about finishing above Manchester United and City. That might sound crazy but that's what I'm thinking about."

Good team. I would still go for suso ahead of assaidi as I think assaidi is more of an impact player should we need something off the bench and for all his work, I think he end product is still a bit patchy. whereas suso does help the team click a bit more.

Want to run a sweepstake on who will be the first Everton player to hack Suarez to the ground and then mouth off at him for diving?
Suarez is going to explode: literally - either in the form of goals or his stud marks on Howard's shiny forehead. Either way it will be fun to watch.

Strange that we didnt talk about Fellaini and his nasty streak. Elbows and late tackles, I mean he's got the history you know.

Oh, thats right, we're not bitter cunts like you Gollum.

I don't think we are going to switch to 4-3-3 just yet. We'll play 4-2-3-1 probably until Lucas and Borini are back.

So it's:

------Sahin-----
Allen - Gerrard

The only variable is probably Suso vs Assaidi. I don't know who I would choose.

Another derby game, another laboured attempt at controversy from Moyes. He's one of those characters who's not quite bright enough to realise he's not quite bright enough.

I think we should definitely start Assadi, hibbert isn't fit which means Coleman at right back and he's garbage. They can be got at down that side.

Assadi starts and everything down the left please Mr Rodgers.
