England U19s: Lee Nicholls - Wigan Athletic, Jed Steer - Norwich City , James Hurst - West Bromwich Albion, Luke Garbutt - Everton, Jack Robinson - Liverpool, Kieran Kennedy - Manchester City, Tom Thorpe - Manchester United, George Taft - Leicester City, Conor Coady - Liverpool, Ryan Tunnicliffe - Manchester United, Jonjo Shelvey - Liverpool, Josh McEachran - Chelsea, Jordan Obita - Reading, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - Southampton, Will Keane - Manchester United, Wilfried Zaha - Crystal Palace, Connor Wickham - Ipswich Town, Benik Afobe - Huddersfield Town (on loan from Arsenal).

I suppose the interesting part is that we're providing more than any other team, including the likes of Arsenal & Spurs.

It really looks liem we may have gotten our Academy back on track - hopefully some of those youngsters can make it.

John Peacock has selected a 20 man squad for the trip to Portugal later this month to contest the annual Alrgave Tournament, where the Young Lions will face matches against the host nation, Germany and Romania over the space of three days.

With the UEFA Championship Elite Qualifying Round coming up in March for the U17s, this competition always allows Peacock and his staff to assess their options over the three games in a tournament format.

After winning the Algarve Tournament last season when the U17s beat Ukraine and drew with France and Portugal to claim the title, Peacock will be hoping that this year's competition bears a similar result and, more importantly, helps to prepare his charges for the rigours ahead.

England open up with a game against Romania on Thursday 24 February, before facing Germany a day later. The competition is then finished off with a match against Portugal in Lagos on Sunday 27 February.

Whilst many of the players have featured for England at U16 or U17 level previously, there is one new face in the squad, in the shape of Liverpool midfielder Jack Dunn.

Adam Jackson (Middlesbrough)
Adam Morgan (Liverpool)
Adil Nabi (West Bromwich Albion)
Alex Henshall (Manchester City)
Ben Garratt (Crewe Alexandra)
Blair Turgott (West Ham United)
Courtney Meppen Walters (Manchester City)
George Evans (Manchester City)
Jack Dunn (Liverpool)
John Lundstram (Everton)
Jordan Cousins (Charlton Athletic)
Luke Hendrie (Manchester United)
Matthias Fanimo (West Ham United)
Matty Regan (Liverpool)
Max Clayton (Crewe Alexandra)
Robbie Cotton (Blackburn Rovers)
Sam Magri (Portsmouth)
Tyler Blackett (Manchester United)
Tyrell Belford (Liverpool)
Zak Ansah (Arsenal)

Haven't really heard these names before, but to make up 20% of the squad is quite a feat and an indication of the lvl of talent available at our Academy.

I think the manager is testing a couple of players. Raheem Sterling is one of their best players but he's not selected.

Yeah, not sure if he'll be tested/given a chance with a older age group tough. (Caps: 6, Goals: 1 )

On a sidenote, of the Liverpool lads selected:

Adam Morgan (Liverpool) - Forward, Age: 16, Caps: 8, Goals: 3
Jack Dunn (Liverpool) - Midfielder, Age: 16, Caps: 0, Goals: 0
Matty Regan (Liverpool) - Defender, Age: 16, Caps: 6, Goals: 1
Tyrell Belford (Liverpool) - Goalkeeper, Age: 16, Caps: 0, Goals: 0
