Looks like they've gone for the so called "nuclear option". I'm not quite sure what the Catalan government hope to achieve ultimately - they can't realistically think independence is a possibility?
Also, I wonder whether Barcelona will be quite as prosperous when the dust settles. By all accounts a load of businesses have already moved their headquarters out of the region.
