There's been enough said on this wonderful forum about "dynamism" in our team and what not over the last few weeks.

Am I missing something, or is this people trying to sound clever for no reason? Dynamic? Most of the fucking Permiership is dynamic when they fancy it (apart from Fat Sam teams maybe).

So what other fancy buzz words should our team be?

I'm nomintaing that we shouldn't sell Masher as we'll lose our "equilibrium".

I would hardly say "dynamism" is some newly created buzz word.

What's your issue with it?

Probably just being petty and annoying me. Since when have ANY pundits (I know most are poor, but still) used this term? Yet we should sign or keep certain people because they are "dynamic". Bollocks.

I'm drunk anyway so may be being petulant.

I remember this being used in Gareth Barry's favour when being compared with Alonso last year, and I could see what they meant; more happened when Barry was on the ball, a well-placed through ball, an effective pass cross-field, etc.

Put simply, i's a cross between confidences and effectiveness but isn't necessarily 'creative'.

And I've heard Hansen use it on more than one occasion.

Dynamic players, midfield dynamos, the dynamism of a team playing total football.

These terms have been around for ages in the media, no?

I think it's just a way of saying that we want someone with the pace and power of a Torres or Gerrard. We're not as bad as we were but we have struggled for genuine pace in key areas for years.

Dynamic though? I think the team is pretty dynamic.

Yup. Explosiveness, energy, the ability to make something happen by sheer will etc etc.

Gerrard is the epitome of dynamism, someone who exudes a physical and mental energy which makes positive things happen.

I would have said it refers to Torres/Gerrard players that change games, rather than just a clogger that plays their position.

Sounds like we're talking about 'match-winners' to me.

Not for me, guys like Silva and Yossi can be considered to be a match-winners but I wouldn't say either is particularly dynamic.

If I was asked to list Dynamic players, Rooney, Gerrard, Tevez and Ribery would instantly pop into my head.

They are combative, explosive players who can adapt to different positions. They expose high levels of energy and play at a high tempo.
