What can you do but laugh ? i mean this is just so ridiculous . It's just another sign of how amateurish people in the football industry are .
I've mentioned it before but it astounds me how so many of these people achieve such high positions in the sport when it's obvious they are so poor at their job and lacking in both business skills and common sense .
And why the fuck does a club the size of Liverpool worry themselves with transfer rumours on twitter ? . You can not tell me that a DJ tweet has really cost them £300k . And even if it did that's pretty rich coming from a club who've spunked £80 odd million on shite in recent times and forked out millions in payoffs to poor staff they originally hired .
It's actually quite an interesting story if true ,and i gather most of it is as Sunny seems to (in-directly ?) know this guy and trust he has no reason to make it all up . I mean it shows up twitter for being the fuckwit place that it is , with the 'modern' football fan taking these rumours altogether too seriously and being obsessed with getting any snippet of news . It's how a parody account grew to be something so big , pulling in journalists and others with respected links to the club and drove some loony director of communications up the wall .
DJ also wrote in the comments section :
"I never made up any transfer rumours - some were educated punts (eg Borini, Joe Allen), some were off forums and other bits & bobs came from journos as I'd wormed my way into the journo circle. There was no "bullshit"."
So it will be interesting to see how some of these journos respond to this . The majority are a bunch of cocks and will feel put out by as they were taken in by the whole thing also and allowed DJ into their sacred circle .
It also highlights the ridiculous relationship there is between clubs and the media . If a club is chasing some twitter guy around can you imagine the pressure they put on papers and journalists .
The whole thing is just sad and another example of why football today is so hard to related to and feel a part of .
