So this March the missus and I have decided for one last hurrah before she starts her 4-month research trip on the other side of the globe while I plant my ass at work here. I'll be flying into Manchester, picking up a rental and then drive up to Edinburgh where we have a couple days to spare before heading down again to visit some friends in Sheffield.
According to Google Maps, the quickest route from Edinburgh to Sheffield would be going along the Newcastle coastline, but after doing some research, this doesn't seem as attractive as I assumed it would be. The other suggestion I've seen was zipping by Galashiels, Moffat and Carlisle. Would be great if you lads can recommend scenic stops that we shouldn't miss. Wouldn't mind spending a night somewhere between the stops too. Ta lads!
